Subject: Seapunk and Vaporwave

One of the biggest underground movements of the last four years was Seapunk, which blew up, mostly on Tumblr, in 2011. Musically it is a mix of house, hip-hop beats and 8-bit videogame music:

Seapunk designs are a pastel, aquatic-themed mix of early computer animation, Windows 95-98 style graphics and that ugly "word art" you get on Microsoft Excel. It often involves dolphins and peace signs.

The latter genre, Vaporwave, is considered to be a succecessor of Seapunk. It is rooted in samples of 80's smooth R&B and "elevator music" played at extremely slow speeds.
Vaporwave visuals are usually a mix of VHS glitches, tacky 80's TV logos, Bubble Era Japanese television and ugly CGI scans of houses:

Vaporwave artists names are often mixes of 80's technology and random Chinese/Japanese writing: Macintosh Plus, Fuji Grid TV, Ultravision®, esc 不在, 新しいデラックスライフ, 情報デスクVIRTUAL etc., sticking to the "virtual" aesthetic.
Both trends have gotten some mainstream attention, causing many to lose interest, but are still mostly underground.
Do you think designs resembling outdated 80's/90's technology (computers, video tapes) will become a thing?

It's what tropical fish in tropical fish–themed screensavers listen to. And the scuba diver in "Mouse Practice," probably, if you used a Mac in the 90's.
What I'm trying to say is that its very 90's computer themed.
