That's a point, where is Emma Thompson! Perhaps Disney is too close to Hollywood?

We had this discussion in the car, The Butler is too glitzty, too many stars playing real people, i.e. the presidents. BTW, I still cannot believe that Ronald Reagan was Alan Rickman

I'm one of the few people who is glad The Butler didn't get recognized. Nothing against the director or Forrest Whittaker, but I've never been a fan of Oprah. It's about time Oprah took a back seat to someone else lol

HEY! >:(
Just kidding... I worship oprah and have been on a 5 yr plan to meet her. I keep getting close but just not close enough... having said that I don't expect everyone to like her... BTW I don't think she deserved a best supporting actress nom or anything. but I do think the movie deserved some oscar recognition.
I predict, if forest makes a quasi decent movie in the next year, he will get a nom next year as an apology for this year..... ala Denzel winning for Training Day because he didn't win the year before for Hurricane.

Something tells me that "12 Years A Slave" will not win many Oscars for the dialogue used in the film, a certain word (which I will not repeat here) was constantly used.

While that word ( I assume u mean the n word) is not my favorite word it was synonymous of the time.
I think Hollywood may be too scared to not give them the award. :D

Neither do I but I felt it would've been false not to include it in the movie...and I hope those knuckle head teens/young adults who think it's okay saw the film and finally saw its true origin.
