The 2000s weren't bad until the debacle of 2008, after that there were a couple of rough years, but, luckily, I am at the end of my working career and wasn't stupid with money, so now I can retire in gentile poverty and hope that the baggers don't warp and twist the social programs that allow me to eat and remain in my small, comfortable home.

Well in the 2010's we now have a liberated Miley Cyrus, which would have to count for something.

On the other hand, the emancipation of the Olsen Twins in 2004 turned out to be pretty much a bust.

So I say advantage: 2010's.    ;D

Since 2008...well the working persons real wages have been stagnant since the '80s, but in 2008 they really took a dive.

The American economy was great from 1983 to 1989, then 1992 to 2000, then it was okay from 2002 to 2007. And then came September of 2008!!

We've had it good for about three decades, that's a pretty long period of economic growth.

Yeah the long boom stretches from 1982 through 2008, the post war boom was long as well, running from the late '40s to 1973.

I'd say better simply because there isn't as much paranoia as there was during the first years of the Iraq War. Plus music and TV seem to be getting better, I'm also enjoying the whole 90s revival in fashion as well as the 70s/80s revival in music. The economy is better than it was 4 years ago, but not by much.

Economically wise since 2008 , it's been gradually get worse with no indication of improvement , before that we were neutral . Social wise , it's been a downward spiral since Facebook & twitter have been the two main sources of communication since the late 00's people seem to be becoming more anti social
