Flying cars can never be a possibility.  If your regular car you drive on a road ever malfunctions, you can pull off to the side of the road.  If your flying car malfunctions and you were miles above the earth, you would fall and die.  There is no way to avoid that scenario.  Sorry Howard, that Jetson lifestyle is only fantasy :D

I think if there will be flying cars then it will be limited, like taxis, most people won't have one, but they can call a flying car to take them somewhere.

I don't know what the 2020s will BE like, but I certainly know what they SHOULD be like:

* Anybody will be able to create their own customized baby!  They'll be able to take the best of their genes, and the best genes from either their spouse, their significant other, or an anonymous donor, and then, they'll be able to tweak everything, based upon their preferences.  If somebody insists upon having an olive-complected, medium-blue-eyed, black-haired female child, who will be super resistant to heart disease and autism and breast cancer, and who will be of above-average intelligence, and who will have an interest in paleontology and gymnastics, they will be able to create such a child.  They will also have the option of allowing the fetus to grow inside of a test tube, thereby eliminating the need for labor.

* When one's child is born, an identity chip will be surgically implanted inside of their brain, so that they'll always be able to be located, should somebody kidnap them.  One's parents will have the option of having a communication chip implanted as well; if a baby is given a communication chip, they'll be able to communicate their thoughts to other chip-wearers, without having to speak to them, look at them, or even be in the same country that they are in.  One's parents will also have the option of implanting an emergency defibrilator/ life sustaining system, in case of a really bad physical emergency situation.

* Teenagers will wear streamlined, plastic, one-piece jumpsuits in colors like black, white, silver, etc., and teen girls will favor the sleek, smooth, no-bangs ponytail; the end of the classic ponytail will be tweaked, so that it flips upward in a stylized point.

* Due to communication chips, silent "mind sex" will run rampant between teen boys and girls...that is, IF communication chips come into use BEFORE the 2020s.

* Dissatisfied singles will be able to customize, and purchase robot lovers, spouses, and even babies.  Robot wedding chapels will appear in every town.  Children will be able to own the most high-end robot siblings and friends, and, should a teen be unable to find a date for prom/ homecoming, they'll be able to rent a robot date, and, if they like her/ him, they'll be able to purchase them.  Robot women will be able to carry, and deliver robot babies, and real women will be able to carry, and deliver robot babies, trading them in for older and older models as the years go by.

* Each state within the U.S. will elect their own president, based upon that state's majority political persuasion.

* Computer museums will appear, featuring computer and phone displays from the 2010s.

* One will be able to order meal pills, after having a full physical at the doctor's office; such meal pills will provide a customized dosage of nutrients to somebody who hasn't the time to sit down, eat, and wash dishes.

* Both the outside, and the inside of each public restroom will feature biodegradable glove dispensers and trash cans.  When you want to use the restroom, you'll take a pair of biodegradable gloves, put them on, walk through the motion-sensitive doorway, walk into a stall, close the door, throw the gloves into the trash can, do your business, take a new pair of gloves, open the stall door, throw the gloves into the trash can that's located beside the sink, wash your hands, and leave by way of the motion-sensitive door.

* A robot army will guard the border between America and Mexico.

* The television will be one entire wall in a room, but it will also be one side of a purse, or the back of a wallet, or even the face of a watch, or the top of one of your shoes, so that you could watch television in a roadside bathroom, if you wanted to do so.

* Pets will be able to be engineered, too, so that they can be free of those attributes that make certain people allergic to them.  Natural dyes will become popular, as people will want to be the first ones on their block to have, say, a green Poodle.

* Teen sex and pregnancy will disappear, because a teen of 2020 will be able to have sex with robots until the cows come home. 

* One's home will be able to talk to them, act as a companion, alarm itself, and allow the home-owner the luxury of having to do very little work.  When Miss Smith comes home from a day of walking her robot dog, her house, "John", will recognize her, and he might greet her by saying "Hiya, Hot Stuff!"  When Miss Smith walks in the door, and she asks for a warm bagel with cream cheese, the house will prepare the snack, and serve it to Miss Smith.  If Miss Smith is feeling depressed, "John" will keep her company, telling her that she's the most desirable woman in the entire world, or he'll remind her of all of the good friends that she has.  Should she desire a bath, the house will know to activate the bathtub.  Should she bring some amorous company home, "John" will keep her actions with that companion out of his memory, unless Miss Smith tells him to remember, and/ or to listen to/ watch whatever is occurring.  Overall, one's house will be one's companion, and it will even be able to be programmed to communicate with one's robot companions.
