Seems down in Brasil, a soccer player got thrown out of a game by the referee, Otavio da Silva.  An argument ensued, followed by a fist fight.  The ref whipped out a knife and stabbed the player to death.  Yep, the Ref's decision to throw him out of that game was therefore final.

Anyway, the spectators did not take kindly to the stabbing.  The stormed the field and quartered the referee.  :o They then cut off his head and impaled it on a stake in the middle of the field.  8-P



(Side note: I saw the pics, he was not really "quartered".  All they did was cut off both his legs at the knee, and his head.  Quartering is a tad more gruesome.)

You got that right.  I mean up here, we might shoot the ref to death but then we'd call it a day.  Putting the dude's head on a pike is considered excessive by our standards.  :-\\
