Subject: Mariah Carey’s hot to play iconic Marilyn Monroe role
Written By: Philip Eno on 05/31/13 at 11:05 am
The 43-year-old singer and sometime actress is a big fan of the tragic star, buying her old piano for almost £400,000 in 1999 and even naming one of her two-year-old twins Monroe.
And it now appears she’s homing in on her dream role in the remake of the movie, in which Marilyn originally starred alongside Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon, right.
“Some Like It Hot was Mariah’s favourite film when she was growing up. There have been some initial discussions and the producers think she’s a natural successor to play Marilyn’s role,” a source close to Mariah tells us, adding that with filming on American Idol, where she acts as a judge, having come to an end, the timing could be just right.
“She’s got a fantastic sense of humour, is looking incredible at the moment and has acted before so it’s a great fit. She’s putting the final touches to her latest album and has just finished filming American Idol so there should be more talks shortly.”
Mariah, who is the biggest-selling female artist of all time, is releasing new single #beautiful from the album on June 24 but it would appear she’s now ready to enjoy a return to acting having made her big-screen debut in Glitter in 2001.

Mariah Carey is very pretty, but I can't picture her as Marilyn Monroe with her skin tone and everything.
Ashley Judd portrayed Norma Jean in a movie, and she actually did a pretty good job so I can see her playing "Marilyn".

To those people in Hollywood:
"Please, oh please, do NOT remake "Some Like It Hot" with Mariah Carey playing Marilyn Monroe's role."
Signed: Everyone.

I Misread the title too. Mariah is not playing Marilyn just taking on a role Marilyn played in a classic movie.

I agree, she does not have the Marilyn Monroe look.

She doesn't need to have the Marilyn Monroe look. She's not going to be playing Marilyn Monroe

NOPE!!!! She isn't a good actress, this is a comic role, she hasn't got timing AT ALL. They need an Amy Poeler, a sexy Amy Poeler...can't think of anyone right now that would fill the role.

Did anyone watch Glitter? Mariah needs to stick with singing because she is not a good actress.

Precious 4: The Quest For Peace
Precious 5: The Dream Child
Precious 6: The Undiscovered Country
Precious: Mission to Moscow
Precious and the Deathly Hallows
I can't think of a movie that had a 9th sequel, so I think 8 Precious films is enough LOL

I think the title you're looking for is
Precious Goes To Hell: the Final Precious Movie
Filled promptly by Precious X (not to be confused with Malcolm X)
:D
