Subject: A link about the oldest person born in North America
Written By: Katluver on 05/31/13 at 12:56 am
Jeralean Talley is her name, and she is 114 years old. She was born in 1899.
I personally find it a little sad that there aren't too many people left in this world that were born during the 19th century.
Here is the link about her story:

For some reason, it seems that once people get on one of those "World's Oldest People" lists, they are not around much longer.

What's interesting is that there was an even older woman, born in 1896 actually, who died just a few months ago. To think she was 3 years older than this woman is pretty incredible.
I agree, it's sad to think that within a few short years, the last living links to that period in history will all be gone. There are currently 11 born in 1899 or before, and another 10 born in 1900. The WOP usually dies at about 115-16...we could potentially lose the last 1899 birth in about 2015.

This is why I'd never want to be on those "world's oldest person" lists. In February this Japanese guy was named as WOP, now in June they're printing his obit.

He died from natural causes.
