Subject: Happy Memorial Day
Written By: Mushroom on 05/21/13 at 7:36 pm
This is something that touched me, so I thought I would share it.
I hope everybody in the US has a good and safe Memorial Day next week, and take at least a moment to remember what it is really about.

Those photos brought tears to my eyes. I wish the people who are so quick to send men & women into war could see them and realize what war is about.
A line that Henry Blake said in M*A*S*H:
Rule #1: Young men die. Rule #2: Doctors can't change Rule #1.
I really hope there will be a time when war is outlawed.
Peace!

They did for me as well Cat, and that is something rare. Crying at my desk at work is not normal for me.
I can only think of 2 times in the last 20 years that I have cried from something that did not involve me directly. The first was the movie Schindler's List. To this day, i still can't look at posters of that photographer who takes B&W pictures of children and tints them. Even to this day I always see the girl in red when I see those.
The only other was Ransom, with Mel Gibson. Being a father myself, I understood his anger and rage in that movie and I have not been able to watch it for years, even though I also enjoyed it in other ways.

In the last few years, tears come a lot quicker to me. I could blame it on hormones-which is only partly the reason. Too many things have happened that has made me cry.
