I was thinking sex and dialogue got more graphic over the years, but actual nudity became much less common. A lot of cable shows make up for it, though, nowadays.

I think sex is disappearing slowly from the movies. Not everyone is interested these days to do a hot steamy sex scene on the bed or in the tub, our generation seems to have grown up and these days want to appeal to a PG audience.

Not wholesome enough, though, for today’s over-25 female audiences, who, according to a Warner Bros marketing report, now make the majority of a couple’s decisions over which films to see. These women would rather watch cutesy, metrosexual man-boys like Ryan Gosling enjoy gauche, non-sexually-threatening encounters with klutzy girl-next-door types like Emma Stone and Jennifer Lawrence – when there aren’t any giant flesh-eating beetles on offer.

You can have all the Internet porn in the world, but there was nothing like seeing a pair of bodacious tatas on the big screen.  Sorry to see them go!

I agree with you there, I think sex on the movie screen made the film more enjoyable. Now that we have internet porn there's no need for hot steamy sex scenes anymore.

The funny thing is, contrary to what Howard, was saying, John Leslie of Golden Age fame says he only used to work about 45 days a year.  Nowadays the Van Nuys is packed with f*** factories.  I mean, in the industrial sense.  Porn stars have to do way more sex for way less money.  It's like an assembly line job and performers get totally burned out in two years. 

It's like with music.  I always bitched about the major labels (Capitol, Warner Bros., A&M, etc.) keeping a stranglehold on artists.  Sure, the major labels often pushed artists into making more accessible music and away from innovation.  At the same time, a lot of artists left to their own devices make total crap.
