While Olympic runner Oscar Pastorius' family is declaring that his GF's murder is a case of her being mistaken for an intruder ::) , other sources indicate that this might have been a case of rhoid rage by the athlete.

Police describe a fairly bloody scene over much of the house, including a bloodied cricket bat. The GF was killed due to 4 gun shots; her skull was also crushed (presumably using the bat); so the "mistaken identity" story does not seem to stand up.

Bludgeonings are almost always a "personal" type of rage-fueled crime, and either shooting the victim to death first and then bashing in their skull (or in the opposite order) is a hallmark of a rage crime and certainly not indicative of repelling a suspected "house invader".

I imagine the Sud African authorities are doing toxicology on Pastorius, so the possibility of rhoids is yet to be established.

I'll admit ... I wondered if roids had anything to do with this. He would have had immense pressure to perform against the able bodied athletes (in the regular summer Olympics).

I saw in the news today that a search of the house turned up a cache of illegal rhoids.

The article went on to speculate that the defense attorneys may use the "rhoid rage" scenario as a way to get Pastorius off the hook from a flat-out premeditated murder charge.  ::)
