Rush, Public Enemy, Deep Purple Nominated for Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
Some decent groups this year, Rush is finally nominated. Voting is open to the public which might make this the first time I even care who wins.

Once again Pat Benatar is NOT on the list. >:( >:( >:( >:( She TOTALLY deserves it much better than some of those other names. Nothing against Joan Jet but Pat had WAY more hits than Joan did not to mention Chic.

Are the Moody Blues in yet? Chicago? The Guess Who? E.L.O? Heart?
I don't think so.

Joan Jett is in the hall but not Pat Benatar? Pat is the much the better artist.
If Rush gets into the hall of fame, whoever had the worst voice before (Geddy Lee) in the hall will now be in 2nd place in the "most annoying singing voice" list ;D

Procol Harum are well deserving of this and long overdue.
Here's a bit of interesting trivia: Procol Harum were the first non-Canadian group to have a Top 40 hit in Canada that qualified for Canadian Content under the "Artist" category. Betcha can't name the song :P

Well of course that would be Conquistador, recorded with the assistance of the Edmonton (Alberta) Symphony Orchestra. 8)
I had that album back when it came out and I played the cr@p outta it.
On a side note... it is a crime that neither Paul Rogers nor Mark Knopfler are in the hall of fame. >:(
Conquistador, there is no time
I must pay my respect
And though I came to jeer at you
I leave now with regret
And as the gloom begins to fall
I see there is no, only all
And though you came with sword held high
You did not conquer, only die
And though I hope for something to find
I can see no place to unwind
Though I hope for, something to find
I can see no place to unwind

Pat is definitely better than Joan. Heart is up this year. The others on your list aren't in-YET!

Public Enemy deserves a spot in the RRHF.
I agree Pat Benatar should get the nod.
Rush should probably get in, even though I don't like them.
DEVO should be inducted, but that'll never happen.

Tell that to Aerosmith, with whom they teamed up for Walk This Way. And to Anthrax, with whom they later joined up to Bring Tha Noise with a little more guitar than the first time around. But if that's not "rock" enough...

...tell it to Slayer, whose epic riff from Angel of Death formed the backbeat to 1988's She Watch Channel Zero.
All three nominees are worthy, and long overdue.
