Is anyone else starting to see changes in fashion/the way people dress? Would you say that the '10s is starting to form it's own identity (fashion wise)? I always hear people say how fashion between the last decade and now is pretty much the same.I have to disagree. Lately, I've been noticing fashion becoming more polished(for lack of better term) and sophisticated. Whereas last decade, it seemed that people dressed more casual,tackier( think uggs, fake tans, overly processed streaked/frosted tipped hair, "preppy" abercrombie look,etc..). Here's a few trends that I've been noticing,

So, yeah. Thoughts? Any other changes you've been noticing?

I've noticed the lacy/floral patterns in women's clothing. Pink is a very popular color to wear as well.

It seems that guys don't wear skinny jeans as much anymore. Now they wear a lot of boot-cut jeans. Skinny jeans remain popular for women, though.

Also, there seems to be a 1930s/early '90s influence to men's hairstyles now. I looked through a recent Kohl's catalogue and some of the hairstyles the guys wore reminded me of popular early '90s hairstyles.

It's starting to change and it's a little different but fashion still kinda feels 2000s.

More wavy hair, more dyed red-hair, more dangly earrings.
More girls walking around in their excersize shorts.

I'm seeing more of a shift in the general "vibe" of fashion, but the actual CLOTHING doesn't seemed to have changed very much, especially for teenagers.

Part of me hopes they don't bring the 90s clothes back.

I disagree, at least for guys.  In the early '00s, name brand "preppy" clothing was all-important such as Abercrombie & Fitch and short hair, generally spiked or frosted.  It was necessary to the point where if you didn't wear it you were ostracized.  Then came emo in the mid-'00s and out of that came the style and the haircut that dominated that late '00s.

Shorter hair has come back in style for men and individualistic clothing is now more popular than it was in most of the '00s.

2010's fashion is bright, colorful and hipsterish.

wavy neo-40s hair, floral prints and dresses for women, men's fashion is harder to determine because it changes much less than women's but shaggy hair is out and baggy is pretty much rediculed now.

skinny jeans are still in for men. The mad men style pants are only for a prep look  it changed a little though . Atleast we dont have 2 see emo hair anymore lol

Hairstyles were better in the late 2009s than they were in the early 2010s.  The braided hair look was old fashion and in certain circles only worked when the look was in.  The new "in" look is sun braids and hair muff styles.

Yeah, I've noticed that crop tops have been a popular clothing item for the past couple of months.

I like the way the women dress in the early 10's, but I'm living in Europe so the fashion good be different here than in the States. Then again, European women have always dressed nice.

Speaking of 1930s influence, fedoras are a popular accessory for young guys these days. Who would have ever predicted that? It's kind of a cousin of the hipster glasses and scarfs.
