I just looked at the news reports and it's just so tragic. No wonder I had a bad feeling this morning  :\'(

If anything, 2012 seems scary.  :-\\

global economic crisis, OWS/global protests against austerity, "the one percent", Arab Spring continuing , severe droughts, blistering heat waves...........that doesn't seem blah to me at all, if anything we've got too much stuff going on at the moment. Some of it might not quite match the craziness of 2011 but it is still pretty crazy none the less.

It's like a mirror of the 1930s for christs sake.

I think that's because we've entered a fourth turning mood since the beginning of the economic crisis, around late '08(in most of the western world at least).
I think the global economy will be under major restructuring in the 2010s and 2020s, I hope some good can come out if that.
The last time americans felt this kind of mood was in the 1930s, the previous fourth turning era.

I have a feeling things will be fixed in the 2010s or 2020s but I think things will get worse before they get better. It's like everyone's waiting for some sort of disaster to happen. I have an instinct there will be a lot of changes around 2013. I'm not sure if they will be for the better or for the worse.

Every other day the euro crisis is talked about in the news, we've had record warm temperatures and drought, the '12 election, the impending fiscal cliff babble and the upcoming debt ceiling fiasco, Arab Spring is radically reshaping the middle east, social unrest is growing because of the economic crisis(especially in europe), ongoing protests especially in Greece, Spain and worldwide activist movements like OWS, these times are a lot more eventful than the recent past(pre-2008), history seems to be speeding up. Boring is the last thing I think of when I think '11/'12. Even on the cultural/musical level we've got one of the most fresh and innovative music styles to emerge in the 21st century, dubstep, gaining huge popularity across the globe.

Yeah, it's not boring to me at ALL with the country in what feels to me, in danger. I just don't like to think of the Republicans getting in and screwing up the country more, now that we've started to climb out of the mess they made before. This is not at all boring to me.  And my life is interesting, so that makes 2012 not boring, too.  :)
