I'm sure you all know what I'm talking about, but I seriously thought it was some power ballad from the mid 80s.

Kind of 80's, but probably more 70's.

Don't hear any 80s. Fun kinda reminds me of Queen.

Don't hear any 80s. Fun kinda reminds me of Queen.
That's what I was going to say. It kind of souds like "We Will Rock You" or "We are the Champions". Anyhow, I think that song is getting played out and starting to get on my nerves like "You're Beautiful" by James Blunt did in 2006. "Someone I Used to Know" by Gotye is a song I like but getting overplayed as well.

I thought it was an 80's song the first time I heard it. I remember thinking "how is it that I've never heard this before?"

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. All their songs have a certain "vibe" to them, and "We Are Young" shares it.
As far as it sounding "eighties", I think it actually does a little bit. It probably could have come out in the mid 80's and not sounded too out of place.

Am I the only one who thinks it sounds like 00s Indie, especially the British scene?

For some reason it reminds me of Piano Man by Billy Joel. I don't know why, it just does.
