Exactly.
I just think of women walking around with these bags, and knowing that there are children that don't have enough to eat. How could you live with yourself?

That is ridiculous. One of the ladies I work with spent $100 on a purse and I wanted to cry. Too much money, and I love purses.

It's no different than giving away $100,000 or buying a $100,000 house. When she bought that purse, she handed over $100k to somebody who made a boatload of money and presumably spent it on stuff, or put it in the bank which is where it woulda been if Fresca had not bought the purse.

Hell I could buy myself a super sweet Paley membership for $100 grand.... Paley Center is a non profit so I get mega benefits and it still goes to charity...
or I could spend it on celeb experiences like the kind you find at Charity Buzz or Bidding for Good.

$100K would make a nice down payment here but it wouldn't buy you much of a house... a really crappy mobile home but not a house. Not even a condo, townhouse or apartment.

Big Deal! This typical of the excess of the lifestyle. I find the vitriol towards her disturbing. Half the people outraged by this can be found performing sexual acts upon themselves for love of the Royals, the Real Housewives, and The Kardashians. Tell me what is the difference between them? If all of these so thoroughly outraged people would direct their so called anger at the people who have screwed up the country so much that some can buy and destroy a $100,000 handbag while others can't afford a $100 a month for food I could take their huffing and puffing seriously. Until then it is just blowhard gas.

or I could just use the money to re-do our house, maybe our carpet, our carpet has been with us for 33 years when My Brother And I were kids we had just a plain solid floor till we got a brown carpet but after years and years and years of walking on it, My Father is thinking about a new carpet.

No, people, no! You're all looking at this from the wrong angle. Anyone who can make a PURSE and slap a $100,000 price tag on it and actually convince someone to pay that much for it is an absolute GENIUS in my book.
Remember Andy Warhol? He had someone print up pictures of CAMPBELL'S SOUP LABELS, and then he went out and convinced people that they were these great works of art and got them to pay thousands of dollars for them. I'm sure this may be up for debate, but as far as I'm concerned Warhol's genius was more about the way he marketed himself than in whatever actual artistic talent he may have possessed.
And how about the PET ROCK? Back in the 1970's some jerk made millions of dollars selling freakin' rocks to people. ROCKS for crying out loud!
So is it outrageous that someone paid $100,000 for a handbag? Totally. But instead of complaining about it we should instead be figuring out ways to separate these fools from their money. Take all your empty beer cans and form them into weird sculptures, and then dye your hair jet black and wear big sunglasses and black clothes and sell your beer-can sculptures for $20,000 a piece at some fancy-pants art exposition in New York. You'd get your money for nothing and your chicks for free! :D
Call me a cynical bastard, but it's all about the marketing. :P

I'm with you on that. What bugs me is people being outraged by her destroying the bag.....who the f cares, and why be outraged when there are so many more outrageous things being bought and paid for that really, in the scheme of things, don't have any worth at all? I posted the other bag just to show that, yes there are more expensive, and equally useless bags in the world.

I don't care what she does with the bag. I am just gobsmacked that it even exists in the first place. I guess it's true that a fool and his money are easily parted, but imo, this goes wayyyy beyond foolishness.

I once bought two designer purses-one was a Liz Clairborn and the other was a Ralph Lauren. I almost went broke buying them because I think together it cost $3 and one of them had some change (and a credit card) in it. :o :o :o :o People really need to check their purses before they sell them at yard sales. But, I think it was the woman's husband who was selling them. :D ;D ;D ;D
I did not buy them to use-I bought them to resell. Unfortunately, I do not know if they are authentic or a knock-off. So, I put a price tag on them (a low one) and put them in our booth. So far, they haven't sold. :-\\

Does it really matter? Does the fact that they did it matter? I don't understand why the brouhaha considering the things that are done with money everyday that a more wasteful, some things that are even deadly. If only the Iraq war inspired this kind of vitriol thousands of people would be alive today. It is all so ignorant.

No, but there is nothing wrong with wondering, either. I have seen no hate here...just curiosity. Why does it bother you so much that people have a problem with it? I understand that you think it could be directed elsewhere, but it isn't. That is how life is, I guess.

I try to avoid news comments. There are always negative people like that no matter what the story. I think they would find something horrible to say about a fireman rescuing someone from a burning building.

burning building.
So in the name of keeping the flame alive...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i6q4n5TQnpA
- Bill Drummond and Jimmy Cauty, aka 90s dance musicians The KLF, interviewed as they burn a million pounds sterling in 1994, Justified And Ancient-style.
(Yes, there was a full documentary. Here's Part 1, you can figure out the rest. The 55-minute raw video of the actual burning appeared to lack sound, so the 5-part documentary appeared to be the bigger win here.)
Who's this Eastwood chick anyways, and why are we worried about a pale imitator mucking about with fiddling small change some 18 years after the fact?
