I was waiting in line at a funeral home earlier today, to pay my respects to a coworker whose grandmother passed away.

Anyway, while in line I saw that the funeral home had some promotional brochures about a product called "Forever Glass" "Memory Glass".

Apparently you can have your dearly departed cremated, and then these guys will incorporate the ashes into all sorts of glass products.  Like a standing object d'art, or maybe a paperweight or, who knows, maybe even an ash tray.

Seemed a bit icky to me.  What say you? ???

You can order them in a spectrum of all sorts of cool colors, too.  Would seem to me that the color pallette would involve altering the ashes though.  Since I am a plain old white guy, if I were to be made into an orb, I suppose I'd want to be white.  :-\\

I find it disgusting, Why would I want a member of my family in some colored orb, What if by accident someone drops the ashes? ::)

My brother passed away 2 years ago.  We placed the bulk of his ashes in a memorial garden with my mother, they were close, some of them went to an seaside park that he loved, a some to the 50 yard line of the high school stadium.  He hadn't missed a Thanksgiving Day game in 50 years, and a regular season game in almost as long.  The football team loved it.

I want someone to take me on the WB tour and discreetly spread me around the lot  ;D

I like what you did with your brother.  I would like to have my ashes spread in a similar way.

The more I think about the orb shaped one, the more I like it.  I mean, if you have a bronze urn on your mantle every one will know what's in there and some might get creeped out by it.  With the orb, it really looks pretty and it would look nice in a curio or on a mantle.  At last after death I'd have a chance to be artistic. :D

You can get the orb in a variety of bases, including one that has an LED under-lighting option.  8)

Really the list of products is never ending.  Key chain fobs, ash trays, heck maybe even be incorporated into a car's rear view mirror so your loved ones can look back through you.  Maybe be made part of a soccer ball so they can kick you around.  Awesome possibilities !

OK. Now you've got me wondering.  Who was the original quote that inspired Frisbeetarianism.  There are tons of references to those quotations, but none of them point to original source material from either Carlin on Stafford. 

I'd swear to (whoever gets the frisbees off the roof) that I'd actually heard the comedy routine myself back in the day (80s/90s/early-00s?), but I can't remember the source either! 

Part of the problem is that Carlin and other comics of the day were so prolific.  For the internet, that's a problem.  For inthe00s.com, that's a challenge.

So: Which comedian came up with Frisbeeterianism?.  Provide the artist's name, album title, track number, TV special, and an accompanying time reference, so that someone who owns the media in question can go there and prove it.
