I'd rather do it in private.

I think you wouldn't propose to someone like that unless you were positive the answer was going to be yes.
What kind of sports team has an arena that empty? I've never been to a game with that many empty seats.

I've read that it was a hoax to promote Ellen DeGeneres' 12 Days of Giveaways...hopefully it was fake cause it would suck if it wasn't.

I don't think so Carol. The game was on 12/23/11 well after Ellen's 12 Days of Giveaways promotions
Globe and Mail notes there have been cases of public proposals and rejections that were deliberately staged to seek attention. But Sports Grid doubts this is one of such: "The woman seemed pretty genuine in her rejection and the dude definitely looked crushed. I’ll buy it. And according to a UCLA spokesman, this proposal was not staged."

I wanna know how long they were dating. Because she didn't look like she was thinking about breaking it off until he popped the question....my guess is he was never mr. right just mr. right-now....it was all fun and games but when it became real she needed to break away.

Better get blushed in a game than at church steps when she won't show up.
Why biocht Ash ? if she didn't go away then in front of plenty of witness, he probably never get a negative as an answer and she might end up down by the river ::).
If you wanna star successfully the play, you must know the script before climbing up the stage ;)
I'm with her this round, for I don't like a lace around my neck......all at sudden girls 8)

I just think she could have given him a hug or something at the time and said something like "I think we should talk a little more about this." Just to save him a little public humiliation while breaking his heart.
Unless he is a total psycho and it's like, their second date.
I once had a guy start talking about "our" wedding on the second date. :o I wanted to run like that lady did!

Even though I feel sorry for the guy, I don't think the girl was a bitch. I mean, it's embarrassing if you know your answer is 'no', but there's so many people watching.
I think I'd run somewhere private too!
If I didn't say 'yes', people are going to take my answer as 'no'. If I didn't want to marry someone and I said 'no' I would still be labeled an 'a$$hole' or a 'b!tch'. So either way the girl is screwed!
