I don't even know how to process this scene yet.
It is almost as if Dex starts to rethink what he is doing, but he doesn't really. And then getting Joe to tell him why he shouldn't kill him for killing Janet, and what will happen afterwards, thunder is just the sound, it's the lightning...

I did not however see the mighty swing of the hammer coming!
I was startled by it and immediately sat up straighter, leaning towards the tv.

No matter his outward appearance, Dex and his dark passenger are still bound as one.

Quinn is going to try and ask Deb to marry him!!!!

Might or might not work out tho... we will see!

Seriously. That was my favorite quote.  I was waiting for deb to curse in front of the sister at the school when that didn't happen, and then when she didn't curse at the initial crime scene I thought WTF what happened to Deb! Glad to see her let her F flag unfurl  ;D

Funny thing. With the whole religious symbolism in the ep I thought the Alpha Omega symbols were angels wings. 



Only dex would realize that a woman holding the grip of a gun wouldn't get blood underneath her nails because her fingers would be turned away from her.  8)

To me, when Dex looked at the Crucifix, there was almost a touch of awe in his eyes. Like he gets it, but doesn't really get it. Of course, now I have watched the chat at the beginning and I think I am going to like where this season is going. Faith and belief - this is going to be a big revelation to Dex. Revelations - where the second coming of Christ is talked about... ;)

I was thinking that the only reason Dex was interested in how Janet died was because he knew from school about the bruises, and he said she was the only one who was genuinely nice to him. He HAD to figure it out - for her. Weird. He can't seek vengeance for his own grief, so he pulls from every source he has in order to attain some form of relief.

Joe said something to the effect that God would smite him if he killed Joe. That God would seek vengeance for Dex's actions. Basically, what comes around, goes around. What better way than Dex kills Joe, God takes Deb...

I am sure I am going to quote more of this passage throughout the season. I have a feeling there will be a protagonist that just won't die. There might be something to do with bear's feet, the mouth of a lion and perhaps a leopard. Just a theory because the continuing passages talk of those. ;)

I broke my own rule.  I watched the teaser. The showed clips for the season not just the next ep.....bad idea on my part, but I can tell you deb is alive and well next week  so no wrath of god there. 


Btw, how good are they still.  It can't be easy having to show up and see your ex everyday.  Then again you couldn't tell when they were in love so it looks no different now that they ain't.  ;)

This is also the Beast many refer to when they say "The Mark of The Beast" as in triple 6's.

not sure I follow you...only because I think that if you do something based on your religious beliefs then aren't you acting in the name of god....therefore acting as a self-appointed agent of god?  I'm not saying it's what god would want to happen I'm just saying in their/his twisted mind he is representing god as he/they view him.  Does that make sense?

I think it makes more sense on Dexter because they are telling the story and how it affects humans....when lost did it they tried to define the universe as being controlled solely by good and evil and even they couldn't really seem to decide which side they should stick with!  It was a little tooo much to handle.... we enjoyed it but most people weren't really able to go there. Then Dex goes to try and find out more about Brother Sam... thinking he is going to nbab him the one that got away.
Gun goes off, Brother Sam puts a guy in the truck.
Dex follows only to be discovered by Brother Sam and his Dog.
Dex goes in to find that the guy wasn't shot at all... he is alive.
So Dex is confused by the whole thing. "...things are not what they seem..."
Then enters Brohas, point s a gun at Sam, and Sam says he is not afraid to die...

Dex shows his Miami Metro ID and the guys leave.
Miracles have been happening all day!

I've often wondered about child actors....really young kids who have roles in really dark stuff...I wonder if when they get older they have repressed memories from a scene or lines spoken to them and if they think the bad stuff really happenedorif they remember it was just acting.

It appears that Alec Vincent (Andy from Child's Play) didn't go on in acting. According to imdb, he tried and didn't like some of his roles, then later retried acting but after 15 unsuccessful auditions, he called it quits.

Nowadays, they wouldn't be influenced so much because of cgi and green screens, but back in the day they had all of the scary crap right on the set! It would be interesting to really discover who was jacked up by that stuff.

It's a soup, I don't do soup...basically noodles and raw beef in a bowl then you pour a super hot broth in and it's so hot it cooks the meat....or something.  The restaurants are cropping up all over in Cali. I think it's a trend that will die eventually.

So Sam tells him that his memories of his mother wrapping him in a blanket was her sharing the light with him - the light that is inside him right now - to which Dex says "I think you got the wrong guy"

There is no darkness that the light can't overcome.

Sam is breaking Dex apart - the light side of Dex.
Every time Sam says Harrison - Dex brightens up like the sun!

I do believe Travis has found his whore.

He almost had her but thank God for the three guys who came up to stop him!

Olmos says tomorrow night he will be there with Travis.
Olmos tells Travis to go home

Not a good idea when Dex has his address!!!!

And so Dex waits until Travis leaves and breaks into his place

He finds the Bible with the numbers cut out - the fame ones found on the victims.

Anderson and Deb go to the crime scene again.
Interesting - Anderson says he is married.

So they are screwing with the owner in order to get Deb the rental...

Dex orders Travis out of the car and sends him away.
Dex will follow and be led to Gellar.

Brother Sam get shot, in the stomach, in the chest and then in the back of the shoulder on his way to the ground!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The dog stands next to Sam...

It is really getting good now.
Of course, I know Sam has to survive because Mos is such a brilliant part of this season.
Olmos - shyt is going to go down that isn't going to be pretty. He has to be real since he is the one who has done all of the killings. Travis is too weak to do them, as he stated. And I pray Dex gets to him before any body else does.
But then again, that would mean Deb would have an unsolved homicide case on her desk - something Maria would love to hang Deb with.

I am actually at a loss for words.
There is so much that can be said, but so little that can be said as well.
Again, the writers are brilliant.
I love the way they incorporated the Bible in this episode.
I love the way the assistant had this book of drawings and it never occurred to her until Angel found it.
I love how Travis is a weakling.
I love that Mos Def is making Dex think differently - not believe differently, just think differently.
I love Deb being a b!tch and a bit mental.
I love that Masuka's intern is now a geeky pervert just like him.

I could go on and on.

Man i freakin' hate docents. Theyseemtotnink the only important thing is whatever they are "docenting"  we have a preserve here dedicated to the snowy plovers.  There are two kinds of plovers....mountain and beach. Someone somewhere decided the beach plovers are becoming extinct and the stupid docents now want the birds protected over everything else.  They will call 911 if someone approaches the barrier. Now the border is inlace to show the people the line they cannot cross if they don't cross the line they are not in violation.  There are no rules against standing too close to it  ::)

Think jamies still pussed deb got promoted overAngel. That's why she argued with not....it had nothing to do with Harrison. Hell Harrison didn't see most of the pics and what he may have seen was mostliy the close up of the stitched tummy.  It was what drew my eye first- and i doubt, in that brief glimpse he had time to figure out what he saw.  Plus....seeing Rita murdered was way worse!

A lot to take in Forster.  I love your obs about the difference btwn dex thinking vs believing spiritually. It's all information that I forms something else. In pieces and as a wholetheres a lot take in and a lot to sift thru.  Really brother Sam is just about being open to the possibilites and For dex that's enough.....


I'm'ahold onto my Dissociative Identity Disorder theory a little longer.  I know  Travis thinks Gellar committed the murders but think gellar has been dead for sometime....probably crucified in some abandon church somewhere.  I think Travis has adopted an alternate personality that is Gellar and when Travis kills he is killing as gellar.  I also think Travis thinks gellar is god so that when Travis says he cant hear godbut god speaks to  gellar there's some weird god speaks to you but I am you and as you I speak to me so therefore I speak to god thing going on.....

Okay that last part might be a bit far fetched but, I have yet noticed anyone, outside of Travis, acknowledge gellars presence. I don't care if we've seen drinking stuff, holding stuff or making cadaver-quins.  ;D  Isay all those moments were manifestations from Travis and until i see tangible evidence that gellar is alive and actively participating in the world I stand by my theory.

I'll take the ridicule if I am wrong....but if I'm righ Rememver I predicted it very early on this season!

Harrison is young and may very well grasp some of the images but he isn't going to remember them. Rita was definitely scarring and life-altering!

Dex gave Nick the chance to turn himself in.
Seems Nick was thinking that Brother Sam lied, that since his Baptism, nothing changed for him (little does Nick know that you still have to take strides to change yourself and your opportunities) So Nick went to the Brothers and they wanted him to prove himself, thus why he killed Sam.

Nick said there was no one left to finger him for killing Sam and that no one would believe Dex.
Dex's dark passenger reared its ugly head and he went ballistic!!!
He grabbed Nick and shoved him, grunting all the way into the ocean where Dex proceeded to drown him.

Think that's it?
Nope.

Dex turns around and who is standing on the beach? His Brother Brian - aka The Ice Truck Killer!

Man, dex has gone to his darkest place yet.  And, I guess, that's why we get brian now... This dark place requires a darker passenger.

Jonah's sister killed herself. Apparently Momma Trinity was blaming the kids for Trinity doing everything he did and sister had enough and took herself out of the equation. When Jonah found her, he lost it! He beat the heck out of Momma and then blamed it all on Trinity.

He wanted Dex to kill him.
He begged Dex to kill him.
DP Brian was screaming at Dex to kill Jonah.
But Dex realized that it wasn't what he was about.
DP Brian only reared his head because Dex was having a hard time understanding The Light and The Darkness - what Brother Sam was always talking about.
Jonah asks how he is supposed to deal with this and Dex tells him to "forgive yourself"
Brother Sam had more of an impact than we were aware!!!!

Yeah, for once Dex was written in a way that not many people would connect with. He was just plain vulgar and irrational and I didn't like him at all. The only thing that was definitely different was the amount he was smiling. MCH is a cutie patootie when he smiles! lol
