An aircraft crash at a Reno, Nevada, air show has injured at least 100 spectators. Pilot killed. No confirmation just yet on fatalities in the stands.
The air show featured a race between two vintage airplanes. One plane piloted by 80 year old Jimmy Leeward nosedived into the crowd.
Leeward was a real estate developer from Florida. He was piloting a WWII-era P-51 airplane.
The accident happened just before 4:30 p.m. during the National Championship Air Races at the Reno-Stead Airport, KTVN-TV reported.
The story is developing.

Various sources state that at least three people are killed (two on the ground, along with the pilot) and 50 to 75 are (seriously) injured.
My thoughts and prayers go out to those affected.

Very sad, I hope those injured recover and the loss of life is not more.

I read about this yesterday on Lydia Cornell's Facebook page (yes Lydia Cornell)
I saw the video of the crash. What a tragic accident :\'(

I have no desire to see the video.
I've read that the death toll is up to 9.

I read about this yesterday on Lydia Cornell's Facebook page (yes Lydia Cornell)
I saw the video of the crash. What a tragic accident :\'(
Lydia Cornell? Sheesh. Like a step in the way-back machine.
I just checked out her website and about two paragraphs down it talks about her being from "Too Close for Comfort", and that she interviewed John Edwards.
I think she needs some new material. ;D
Back in the say, though, I must say that I woulda partied with her... :P
