Is it just me, or are commericals in the 2010's more colorful, more fun and vibriant than the ones from the 2000's?

I even notice at the end of the commericals, a little electro- echo like slogen or jingle from the narrorator...or am i the only one who hears it from the jingles? And the colors and clothes are more vibrant and loud if you'r watching them in HD TV, which i have at the crib.

So my question is: What's the big difference between commericals produced now and from the 2000's. I haven't watched alot of commericals in the last decade, can someone tell me what the contrast? What differences have you noticed in commericals from 2011?

The technology in 2011 has improved quite a bit since the year 2000. Special effects as well. Computer technology and animation are so much better than they were 10 years ago. It keeps getting better. Look at (what was thought as) state of the art technology and special effects for films in the 1970s, and compare it to today. Enormous difference.

It seems that in both the 2000's and 2010's they don't have Olympic gymnasts hawking tampoons anymore...  :P

Well there were ZERO commercials in HD back in 2000, now probably at least 50% are. I had HDTV first in 2004 and there was FAR less HD content then and I don't really remember ANY commercials being HD even then, it wasn't until 2007 or so that you started seeing HD commercials. So that's a difference.

That's not a ballerina.  She's a gymnast.

The gymnast is Cathy Rigby in the photo above. She was U.S. National Gymnastic Champion in 1970 and 1972.

They had Mary Lou Retton pushing rags right after she got her gold medal back in '84 as I recall. Couldn't find an ad online to post though.

I never associated gymnasts with that industry before.

Now... Flo Jo would have been a natural to hawk these products back in the day.  ;D
