No, they are essential.

Plaid shirts, skinny jeans, cargo shorts, deck shoes, Vans, Wayfarers sunglasses, cropped jeans (cuffed right past the ankle, wear with deck shoes).

Thats mostly it for guys. For girls you got skinny jeans, those off shouldered Flashdance styled shirts, crop off shouldered shirts, basically loose tops with leggings or skinny jeans, there's so many :P

I'm a perfectly straight guy who wears skinny jeans and no one cares. Its acceptable now. 5 years ago you might have had a point.

Um, pardon? EVERYBODY wears skinny jeans. In that case, why don't you just go ahead and tell everyone walking around they're gay? They've pretty much became a staple in today's fashion. Like Shiv said, 5 years ago, it would have been different, but now...yeah.

Believe it or not YES. Some of them actually do...and I didn't mean it like EVERY single person wears them, but most people do.

I wouldn't say MOST do. Most wear regular pants...lol

Skinny jeans must just not be popular on guys down here in the South.  Guys here have a fear of appearing gay so they tend to shy away from fashion trends that look feminine. 

For the early '10s, it's mostly small waist coats for both sexes, skinny jeans, v necks, nerd glasses, mohawk/fade hybrid for black males, neon buffalo plaid, and I notice TONS of ruffles on female clothing, ruffles everywhere.

How could I forget the guido Jersey Shore look, orange tanned skin, that goofy hair, men with pink lipstick, graphic tees, fist pumping to electro-house music, it just all screams 2010/2011 right! VH1 will probably cover this look on a I love the '10s episode. ;D

Fashion has been getting more wild, out there, and bold since around 2008, I guess people are getting tired of the plain, moderate look of the '90s/early '00s. I guess Lady Gaga has something to do with this too, it is highly impractical to completely emulate her look on a day to day basis but I see more people dressing more colorful, especially at my tech college.

You're right about that. I noticed that too. I have two used copies of Star magazine from 2006, an In Touch Weekly copy also from 2006, and OK! magazines from 2007 and 2008. (I have poor taste in reading material, I know  :D) I noticed that the fashion in the 2006-7 mags looked quite plain. In the 2008 magazine, the fashion looked like today's.  ;)

I know,I've seen it almost every day,people are starting to dress weird.

High top fades are very much back too, I've seen plenty of black guys with the style(and the weird mohawk/fade too), most of these are teenagers who are too young to even remember high top fades in the late '80s/early '90s period. At my tech college there is was this one guy who had a super tall kid n play style high top, there was also alot of girls that always wore bright colorful pants(purple, pink).
