It's not bad. It's not one of my favorites from Lady Gaga, but it's okay.

All the hysteria about this song and this is what we get. What a flop!

It's alright, but it's not as instant as some of her other songs. I'll see how much I warm up to it over time. I remember when Poker Face came out, it was instant addiction. I like the lyrics though and the equality message is good.

It seems like it is getting universal praise from the critics, to me it almost sounds like a "disco anthem", 2011 techno stlye.

Kind of agree, its getting oversaturated. I give it until 2013.

That being said, its still 10 times better than the sheeshty ringtone/glam rap it replaced.

It at least to me, it doesn't sound like a "radio friendly single", it's not instantly catchy, it has kind of a weird structure. This proves Lady Gaga can do anything at this point. :D

This will probably be one of the biggest songs of this year, it's GaGa how could it not be? She's setting airplay and sales records already. One thing is it's at least different from that whole "California Gurls", "Tik Tok", "Dynamite" style that's played out, even though it sounds like early '90s Madonna LOL.

Not bad, but its no Poker Face or Bad Romance.  I expected far more.  If this song was by anybody but Lady Gaga it would be a complete flop.  I would say that I can only see this being a big gay club hit, but its Gaga so it will probably be played out on the radio as well.  We will see.

Really, it sounds more early 90s house to me even though it is still modern electropop.

The song is starting to grow on me. It's quite a ubiquitous sight to see people complaining in Youtube comments and blogs over how it sounds too similar to Madonna's Express Yourself. While Born This Way definitely seems to take inspiration from Express Yourself, I hardly think the songs sound that much alike.

I agree, for all the sheesh that people give her for not being talented, well she can rip it on the piano.  I wouldn't go out of my way and buy her music, but she is talented imo.,

I think she is going a little too far in pandering to the gay community, so far as to alienate any straight fans (she has already succeeded in making straight guys who do like her keep it a secret).  Ke$ha did a much better job with "We R Who We R", which has a pro-gay meaning but you don't have to be gay to relate to it.

I listened to it out of curiosity and couldn't get through it. I wouldn't go as far as to say that she will be irrelevant outside of the gay community from now on, but the target audience for this particular song does not include me.

Starting around Alejandro, Gaga started subtly being influenced by Madonna.

I mean the bra in Alejandro was definitely inspired by Madonna's Vogue video and the whole 'religious blasphemy' thing was inspired by Madonna also.

Madonna was not the first to be blasphemous, but Gaga's religious controversy was definitely influenced by M.

Eh, I like "BTW".  From a club perspective it has anthem written all over it.  There's a sound used in the bassline that reminds me of Cetu Javu's "Have In Mind" (Kalimba Mix).

Yeah I agree with you. It sounds like the song is influenced by Madonna's song "Vogue" which came out in 1990 I think too. I think its another solid song for GaGa and solidifies her as the top pop star(besides Justin Beiber)in the music business today and takes her to another level. I might buy her next album.

I miss the old Lady GaGa to be honest and I'm not really a huge fan of this song. It's just not fun like some of her other songs are and it's possibly the most unoriginal song I've ever heard. My problem and I'm speaking as a straight male fan is I think the whole gay icon thing is going to her head. I think she's gotten to the point where she's EXACTLY copying Madonna because she wants to be the voice of the gays or whatever, idk its ridiculous. Keep in mind I definitely support equality, people should not be persecuted for who they are whether it's race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion, anything! Today I heard on the radio that GaGa has declared this song a "gay anthem", it's like she's trying act as a spokesperson for the gays which is kind of what I'm getting at. She's gotten so ridiculously pretentious while her music has gotten less and less original. I miss when she was kind of normal and made catchy dance pop songs instead of trying to emulate Madonna and christen herself a gay icon. The fames going to GaGa's head unfortunately.  :-\\

Completely Agree.  I think she has taken the gay icon thing too far and it will likely become her downfall.  At least Ke$ha is pro-gay but not gay exclusive.  "We R Who We R" was written for the gays but can relate to anybody.  I miss the Gaga of the Just Dance and Poker Face era.  Her songs were actually fun and catchy back then.  The Fame Monster was a little heavier but for the most part a continuation of the Gaga we all fell in love with.  Today she is about nothing but advancing a political agenda.  She is no longer about what made her famous - great music people loved regardless of their gender, race, sexual orientation, etc.

You got most of it, but it's kinda-sorta the other way around.  Lady Gaga is merely the latest incarnation of Eris, Goddess of Discord.  

What's half her discography (to say nothing of her onstage antics) other than a sublimely awesome way of rolling the apple of discord (duly inscribed "To the Prettiest One") into the world's biggest party hall full of pop-media journalists, and then enjoying the chaos that ensues as they all try to figure out who's the prettiest of them all?

Gaga is most likely working with the ELF and her act is the '10s equivalent of the '90s band KLF, which was founded to oppose the late-60s MC5 attempt to kick out the JAMs.  

Sometimes I think that every conspiracy theory that could possibly have been invented has already been invented, and then the Internet drops something like that into my lap.  Karma for the opportunity to add a few notes to a JAM session that's been going on since before I was born.
