So a few weeks ago, the University of Picksburgh finally decided to do what it should have done years ago.  it fired head coach Dave Wannstedt because he could rarely win "the big game" and his players seemed to be more familiar with the Allegheny County Jail than the end zone.

So they go out and hire Mike Haywood, an itinerant college football dude who most recently went 9-4 at Miami(Ohio).  Last year they were like 1-11.

"He's a man of integrity and character and will be a true inspirational leader for our football team," remarked Pitt Athletic Director Steve Pedersen.

Well, as I type this post, Coach Haywood sits in a South Bend jail cell, having been arrested on New Years Eve.  Seems he started to beat up his baby-mama (with the baby in her arms) and she called the cops.

Oh yes, a side note.  The police woman who pinched Haywood is the daughter of a friend of mine.  Apparently as soon as she saw bruises/marks on the baby-mama, the die was cast and he was arrested.

Yes, an inspriation to the Pitt football program indeed.  ;D

Pitt's chancellor just gave Haywood the old heave-hoe.

Seems like only a couple of weeks ago Coach Haywood came to town...
