She fell and broke a couple of ribs.  It's just not as easy to give vigorous performances night-in, night-out like she did thirty years ago.  I mean, The Rolling Stones still perform, but Aretha didn't make a deal with the devil, she just bought a song off of Carol King!

Actually it was mocking the diva attitude of the other guy.  The word diva is taken to lightly these days.  Aretha earned the right to be a Diva.
