Subject: Let Me In

So, what gives?  There is from what I hear, a perfectly decent horror film, in theaters this week, but alas more people are going to go and see Jackass 3-D.

The movie is based on the Swedish novel, Let The Right On In, by John Ajvide Lindqvist.

And remade awhile back recently, as an awesome film.

Need further proof as why to check it out?

"'Let Me In' is a genre-busting triumph. Not just a horror film, but the best American horror film in the last 20 years. Whether you're a teenager or a film-lover in your 50s, you'll be knocked out. Rush to it now. You can thank me later."

-  Stephen King

and finally.......

"I might just be the luckiest writer alive.
To have not only one, but two excellent versions of my debut novel done for the screen feels unreal.
Let the right one in is a great Swedish movie.
Let me in is a great American movie.
There are notable similarities and the spirit of Tomas Alfredson is present. But Let me in puts the emotional pressure in different places and stands firmly on its own legs. Like the Swedish movie it made me cry, but not at the same points.
Let me in is a dark and violent love story, a beautiful piece of cinema and a respectful rendering of my novel for which I am grateful. Again."

-  John Ajvide Lindqvist, writer of the novel, Let Me In

I'm planning on seeing it tomorrow, at a local theater, myself.

So, if you like scary films, please check this movie out, and the original, too.

True.

However, who can resist seeing a film where Steve-O gets kicked in the crotch, in glorious 3-D ? ???

It does look good.  I think the timing for release may be bad.  People are just on vampire overload right now.  Plus it's (presumably (as I've not seen it yet)) slower-paced and not as action-packed as most horror films.  I actually do prefer that amongst my horror films, I think suspence is much more horrifying and satisfying then gore.

Just came back from seeing the film, it was amazing, and probably one of the best films, I have seen this year.
