Subject: A book based off this site?
Written By: Ryan112390 on 09/12/10 at 6:38 pm
This really has the potential to be a great storehouse of 2010s trends and sociology and of course history as it happens. Perhaps someone could write a book in the future, when 2010s nostalgia kicks in around 2030 or so based on the stuff here. A lot of other decades could be done too.
It's not something I'd do since I can't write anything more than poetry without stopping after the first page (overly critical), but still....There is a drought when it comes to pop culture and sociological books.

Why write the book in the future when it can be written now?

There is a drought when it comes to pop culture and sociological books.
I searched for popular culture books on amazon.com, alone, and received over 40,000 results. Sociology returned over 400,000 results. Cultural anthropology returned close to 40,000 results...
Sadly, "How to be as awesome as Dave" got no results...
Hey, somebody should write a book on Decadeology! Sh*t, where's my ritalin..?!

The protagonist makes a key mistake: Never enter an authoritarian state and rush too quickly toward an anti-authoritarian agenda. The subjects of the authority might not be able to handle freedom without acclimatisation. McMurphy injected such a bold defiance of Nurse Ratched and the patients went from passivity to insurrection in one go. It was fruitless.

Rebellion without order and when you don't know what you're doing is just plain chaos isn't it?

Are you suggesting that there's some sort of corruption afoot? Because the Fixx hasn't been in since 1983.

Once upon a time, in the faraway land of Massachusetts, a man named Chucky decided to create a pop culture message board. He carefully constructed the various sections of the board, and it was sure to be a success... but there was one problem.
The board needed a Howard. So Chucky searched high and low, and finally found the perfect Howard in New York City.
As time went on, and the board became more popular, it became evident that the board needed a witch, but it had to be a good witch.
