I really do hope Mel gets it together even if his career goes down the toilet. More for his own good than anybody else's. Even if I'm not a big fan of Mel Gibson anymore I don't like to see someone go down like this.

I'm not delighting in his downfall.  I was earlier awestruck by his arrogance.  I thought the man was just another self righteous a-hole who wants to shove his faith down your throat!  Then I saw that he was mentally ill, and I felt some sympathy for him, even if he did say antisemitic things that cause me to continue to boycott him.  Now it is like Mel is arrogant, mentally ill, and dangerous.  It's the dangerous part that concerns me. 

Remember O.J.?  Mel could be the next O.J.  O.J. was on record for domestic assault and battery.  Nicole continued to stay with him and nobody dared to intervene...then came June of 1994.  I think it would help to get a full battery (excuse the homonym) of psych tests. 
That'll never happen.  Even if it did, he would still be Mel Gibson with $54 million liquid (or however much he's got).  You can't boss somebody like that around!  Just ask Michael Jackson!

I prefer to remember him for his earlier roles rather than the rubbish he is causing around himself recently. His ex-wife came out recently and defended him stating that he was never violent with her in their 20 odd years of marriage. Sadly, his mind has possibly lost some cells due to previous alcohol abuse... :-\\

Hope he gets his act together and makes more films again.
