YAY!!!! It's back!!!!

So Gordon finally finished a dinner service on the first night....
he had to kick 7 chefs out of the kitchen to accomplish this feat but he did it!!!!  ;D


I don't like Fran... she's a cranky broad
I don't like Autumn... she's too much with the "fakeness" trying to pump everyone up yet hiding the fact that she wasn't working all that hard
I don't like the dude with the spikey hair-

I laughed when that one chick got called out for laughing.

That was the "executive chef" Scott - his name was scott right dag?  who went to the red team.... that man talked a lot of game but didn't have the skills to back it up.  I was glad to see him go last week...

I still dislike Summer... Winter.... spring......fall.... oh yeah.... autumn.  What an annoying twat... I hate. DETEST EVEN! people who try to cover their arses by not owning up to something or pointing the blame elsewhere in hopes no one will notice thier eff ups.  She will not do well in Chef's kitchen....

I think it was Scott...but it is early so I could be wrong. :D

They were good eps. I kinda felt sorry for Salvatore...not that he didn't suck but he thought he was safe b/c his team won and then he got sent home anyway!

It was pretty funny the way the angels started singing when Ben first came over to the red team....then- in an instant- the women all turned on him!  ;D 

He is an arrogant ass. And its wrong that he is soooo judgemental of Sibohan (who btw has the same name as one american idol contestant but looks more like crystal bowersox with red hair.... )


Siobahn should've stood stronger. When she was convinced that her sandwich was better she tried but got rail roaded by Ben and ultimately her whole team. But when Ben told her her sandwich sucked she should have said Gordon didn't think so and his opinion is the only one that counts.
Ben is no champ in the kitchen he's just doing what Autumn does. Highlighting someone else's weakness in order to mask his own.  He sucked in the first episode of the night.... he did okay but not great in the second. 

Where Siobahn really failed was not fighting to get back on the fish station.... when ben said get out of my station she should've said EFF YOU IT'S MY STATION! that fight would've made Gordon keep her in for at least one more week.

Sadly I really liked ben in the beginning  (of last night's ep) when it was all hearts and flowers and the angels came down from the heavens to sing about the peace & harmony......  He was engaging and really took the time to work with them and I thought. Now this is a leader.  And as much as I resent it when men come in and "take charge" of a women's team I thought that he did so in an acceptable way....boy did he waste no time in proving me wrong!



Kill em all and start over? excellent idea.    I would love to see an all-stars season- but I don't just want selected people to come back - I want them to get as many as they can from all the seasons (non winners only) and have a free for all....one former contestant........ gets a second chance at a job with gordon or a good cash prize...

I think that's one of the things they look for in casting... not that they are promoting smoking but, since it's illegal to smoke inside CA bldgs  having smokers and a designated smoking area makes it more likely that people will spend a lot of time in that one spot together giving the producers more usable material rather than having everyone inside going off to separate rooms and isolating themselves.... its also why most shows provide alcohol - because people will be more inclined to create controversy if they are a little buzzed....or drunk off their arses like Ed was......

Some the chefs had absolutely no talent- so they wouldn't have to come back- but it'd be fun to see if they've improved...

then there's that chick who got to final four or final three who had only diner experience and Chef promised to pay her way thru cullianary school (she must be done by now.  I'd like to see where she's at now.


and that woman  who had the injury and took herself out. Ghe, Gee, Na, Sing.... something like that. She seemed to have some skills but didn't have the stamina to stand on fractured ankle or foot.

wow.... Ben just keeps getting luckier and luckier..... in part one both teams "lose" despite the fact that Blue had a more popular menu....

Had red lost I think Ben and Fran should've been in the bottom two. It would've been interesting to see what Gordon would've said when Ben stood up there and told him he was 90+% responsible for that menu....

Where the hell did Holli come from? I mean I never noticed her before last week and suddenly she's winning challenges for the red team and kicking ass on deserts when every other item of the menu got shut down?

I will say tho- despite the fact that Ben said no to the mashed sweet potatoes I did notice a plate coming out of the red kitchen that looked like it had mashed sweet potatoes on it....well it had something orange at any rate.


Anyway- I still think Fran would've gone with her and ben in the bottom but I'd still like to see Chef hand Ben his ass.


Fran should've gone long ago! maybe week two.... has red team ever won a service? I mean I know blue team has lost members but it seems on the weeks a blue team member goes home it was either they were in the bottom with the red team or (as in scott's case) they were shipped off to the red team then eliminated....

I think they only won two challenges.... I don't think chef has an executive chef this year and I wonder if they won't just quietly offer this year's winner cash to keep them out of his kitchen!  ;D


If I worked at the Savoy in London I would be watching this show very carefully to see what I was going to be stuck working for.... because it would give me insight into how what they know or don't know.


I felt so bad for Nilka in the second half of the ep.... she was so determined but there was no coming back from that failure.  I know JP tells contestants to fight when they get kicked out of the kitchen but really at some point you have to give up the ghost.

I am glad Ramsey went out to meet her because it shows respect. She was a better cook than the work she put up tonight she just lost momentum. I think she's better than Autumn but unfortunately she couldn't sustain tonight... It would've been better to see Nilka in the top six but alas we must endure Autumn for another week... I anticipate Jay and Ben in the top two  unless Holli continues to knock them out the park..... 


I'm not saying Ben deserves top two... I think he needs to be gone.... I'd actually prefer to see him go before Autumn but I think he will continue to skate by...

True.  Scott can hold his own...I have never heard a blow up from one of the females but I have heard a few from Scott.  My favorite was a couple of seasons ago when the chef couldn't figure out why the water wasn't boiling and Scott had to show him that the stove wasn't on. ;D  I love Scott.

I can't believe there was no elimination. I mean Ben supersucks. It's the same thing every week for the last three or four eps.

Um what happens with holly and her son if she wins. Is the dad moving too? Are they flying the little bugger back and forth?

Holli is totally a ho. She's playing jay there will be no "relationship" after the series ends. No friendship either.

Ha ha I was just coming here to post "happy happy joy joy!!!"

I have a bad back and when it hurts you want to lay down and die. Cept you can't lay down. 
I also know that the best pain killer on the planet are endorphins. It's perfectly reasonable for Ben to have been looser during service - save one thing.  Ben was never hurt to begin with.

If Ben hurt his lower back he would not have been sleeping on his back. I didn't lay on my back for a year after my injury.

Plus you carry yourself differently- more guarded- there was none of that.

Ben is a whiny bitch who couldn't handle losing so he felt a slight twinge and blew it WAY out of proportion. I was actually mad at Gordon for letting him stay in.

I was even more pissed when it looked like Ben was having a good service. It was like week three when he didn't suck.

I know editing plays a major factor in it all. I love reality show editing!!!! But no way Ben was "good" the last three weeks.

And his arrogance is astounding. The best part of this season is the fact that they kept all his ' I'm the best cook here' and left in his getting his ass teamed by Ramsey. And his looking like a total isiot with his deer caught in hheadlights look when Gordon told him to talk to people!  (during service).

Holli is a total Ho. She comes on to jay and fliers relentlessly with him.
She was all cuddles w/ her kid's dad and plans to take him to uk too if she wins. I think she got drunk, fooled around with her friend who gas more feelings for her than she has for him. Had an oops. Went holy crap what now. And strings dude along b/c he makes it easy for her to be a drop in Mom

Judgemental I know. Especially since I know nothing about her and them but it's the vibe I get. He totally wants her - the whole family package- she wants the job the kid no responsibility and time to play.

Wow... Holli actually pulled it off... I'm surprised...

Okay I watched the second ep---it was more of the same as the first. eliminating 60 down to 30 or something...

then I watched ep 3. this was slightly better.... only slightly basically whittling it down to 15.  two challenges....peeling, slicing and dicing onions.... and then cooking one egg...

The Egg challenge was interesting because what the hell do you do if you eff up the only egg you get?

also- I was wondering if you are the last one to go how does it feel to have your cold egg dish judged on you know....flavor  ::) 

some people royally failed... others were quite impressive...its still not my favorite show but I'm gonna keep plugging away at it...

Oh I totally hate Jay way more than Holli- I just don't respect that Holli was pretty much down with seducing him if that's what it took to distract him from the win.

I'm not sure how they judged the winning (I mean besides the comment cards) it seemed like Jay had a better grip on his chefs than Holli.... then again Holli had the worst team so maybe she got brownie points simply for finishing...

You're probably right about the brownie points.  Being able to finish with the ladies version of Ben, Autumn, took plenty.  There was another delusional chef. ;D

no kidding.... when she was all- I have to do this because Nilka doesn't know how....beyach... Nilka will run laps around you in the kitchen, sweat in the damn food and still put up a better product.... now Siobahn.... I swear I don't know who was worse Siobahn or Fran... oy!  ::)

That's what I hated about her the most.  She just assumed everyone needed her help because they were not "as good" as her.  I agree that Nilka was a much better chef. 

Okay three weeks into the real show and I have to say it's actually good... those first three weeks when they were trying to determine the 16 cheftestants were painful but it finally paid off!!! 


So the show airs in a 2hr block but it's not like hell's kitchen where you get two eps. The structure is interesting...


1st challenge: MYSTERY BOX

The chef's each get a box with all the same food products. They then have to create one dish using all or at least one (or two) of the contents of the box. The box is filled with breads, veggies, a protein... you name it... the chefs can get whatever seasonings they want from the pantry but must only prepare something from within the box.... they have an hour to cook.

once done only the top 3 (or I should say the top most interesting looking dishes) get selected for tasting... from the three most intriguing dishes a winner is picked.


2nd challenge (immediately after the first - well they probably sit around for an hour or two but you know its not the next day)
The winner of the mystery box gets to go into a back area and his presented with three ingredients... or 3 different  dishes (they changed this up one week with guest chef Cat Corea)  anyway--- the winner decides what ingredient (or dish) all the chefs are going to cook... this is interesting because do you choose the thing you know you'd excel at? or do you choose the hardest one and hope someone effs it up worse than you...

anyway- all the dishes are tasted...a winner is chosen from the three that tasted best and one person (sometimes more) is eliminated from the worst three dishes.


3rd challenge... next day

This is a team challenge... the winner from the 2nd challenge gets to pick their team by choosing who they think is best of all the chefs... the chefs that didn't get picked make up the red team... the winning chef's team is the blue team.  There there is a challenge... this varies week by week...

week one they cooked for a few hundred marines and their families. buffet style the guests ate on the beach... one team ran out of food...there were 1500 people to feed in all...

week two they made burgers for 100 truckers... the truckers got one burger from each team and voted to determine who's was best.

week three...the teams had to cook for a wedding... one team fed the grooms guest and the other team fed the brides...

a winning team is chosen and is safe for the following week...


4th challenge (The Pressure Challenge)

this varies week by week too...  the losing team is given a "pressure" test and the loser gets kicked off the show...

week one was a taste test...  they had to taste a dish and name the 20 or 25 ingredients in it the one with the fewest correct answers was eliminated..... the dish was Chili....


week two was an identification test... they had to look at an assortment of  foods and identify as many as they could. the one with the fewest correct answers was eliminated


this week.. they had to make pasta (I wouldn't know how)  and they had to make a sauce to go with it.... the worst tasting was eliminated (actually they eliminated two this week)


anyway--- this is a structure I can get behind it's really interesting to watch.

Hell's Kitchen starts a new season with new chefs and all that.

I would try out, but I may not take the pressure from Gordon Ramsey and I would watch the show, but I have a meeting that I go to tonight.

I cannot believe what sore losers the guys are... and I don't care if they are bratty kids from B. Hills you treat customers with respect...

and to the girls who were shocked by the kids palette ...  those kids have probably grown up eating at some of the finest dining establishments in the world so yeah... they know more about food at 18 than your ass did...


is it me or do the women look especially... forgive me... low class this year? a lot of them nona, sabrina, melissa, jillian, emily... look like they should be cooking at some greasy spoon or serving food at Denny's or something...

Gail is the only one who looks like an executive chef.

Most of the chefs on the current show are annoying.  I think the asian girl or guy with red hair may win.  A girl won last time, so I am guessing a guy will win this time.

OMG!!! I'm so annoyed... first that debacle on survivor now this....  Ramsey just rewarded subpar cooking because it sucked less than the last two services... I always liked Nona and thought she'd win from about mid-season.  Russell didn't even deserve to be in the final 2, he was just an a$$.  He tried to be Ramsey Jr. and failed miserably :D

As I said in LTE I've just started watching this series, so I haven't read the last couple of posts.

In the ep I just watched Raj was eliminated.  Two girls had been up for eliminated (based solely on customer comments) but Gordon threw everyone for a loop by choosing Raj.

Last night I watched some of the ep where Sabrina was eliminated at the end.  I started watching when Gail and Russell were at LA Market.

What a disastrous service! And didn't Sabrina weep and whine at the end.  I'm glad Gordon saw through her attmept to get rid of Gail!

He was a total jerk. I started off not liking Nona very much. I think I wanted grace to win but once she was out I started warming up to Nona.
I was so against men tgat season that was happy one didn't win. I was truly hoping it'd be an all female finale.
