San Fernando Valley, California -- Adult video actor Steven Hill (aka Steve Driver), 30, hacked fellow adult video actor Herbert Wong (aka Tom Dong) to death with a prop Samurai sword.  Hill injured two others in his rampage, both other victims expected to recover.  Hill worked for Ultima, a company specializing in violent fetish pornography, and was residing on the set as he had no home to go back to.  Thus, when the company told Hill he was not performing up to standards and gave him his walking papers, he lost both his job and his home.  Hill has a history of violent outbursts and brushes with the law.  He went a little too far this time.  The puns in this case are all too obvious

Reminds me of the quadruple Wonderland Murders back in 1981, which were all done by bludgeoning.  One of the initial theories was that it was not a murder case, but rather an accident, as the porn star was startled and quickly turned around, accidentally clubbing to death everyone in his, uh, path.  ;)

Whereas Holmes was flat broke because he spent all his money on cocaine, Hill was broke because the hired guns in the porn industry get paid about minimum wage these days.  Its the women who make the money, and they're making less and less as any idiot with a video camera, a website, and a couple of grand can start shooting porn videos and uploading them to the Internet.

Yeah, for the male performers the porn industry is a mere shadow of its peak during the Golden Age heyday.

Back then all the male performers were household names...  Harry Reems, Tony "The Hook" Perez, Johnny Wadd, and even Richard Pacheco were famous for their exploits with the likes of Marilyn Chambers (the Ivory Snow Girl), Linda Lovelace, Georgina Spelvin, and Seka.

Nowadays, except maybe for Ron Jeremy, the male figures of porn toil in obscurity.  And you really don't hear all that much about the women either, although I guess there are a couple who pull in some decent dinero.
