Subject: 3DTV

If you too a news search for this term, I've seen many articles over the past week showing great support at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, this may be the year (and possibly decade) of 3DTV. Apparantly, having just a regular 2D HDTV is already starting to have signs of being so "turn of the millenium" with the excitement this has generated, and several million units are possible by the end of the year. It's an early sign of the 2010s being different than the 2000s perhaps. This would pretty much kill regular DVD if this took off as well, as Blu-Ray can have 3D capibility.

I don't know of too many people, willing to buy 3-D TV, right away, though.

I would buy it, just to watch Avatar. I should wait until the price drops, but then again, I've always wanted to be the "cool kid" who is the first to have the next big thing.

Many of the new televisions people are buying this year have the 3D capability in them, which is a plus, but I don't see people using that feature too often, but who knows . I doubt people will want to watch things like the news in 3D anytime soon

I don't want a 3-D TV, and if it ever came to be that 3-D TVs were all there were, then I would stop watching TV forever.
Certain things are cool in 3-D, but I like the choice of knowing I don't have to watch 3-D

Ha ha, that old chestnut.
SKY are already planning 3DTV for mainstream viewing this year. Personally I'm a bit meh about it, hopefully my attitude will change towards it later on. Definitely not worth shelling out the cash for it just yet though.

Well there was those 3D glasses that came with Green and Red lens that you find in your cereal boxes ;D. But seriously, with 3D movies, there has to be surround sound, otherwise it wouldn't sound complete, at least to me.
I think the 2010's will be the 3D era imo. Games will be in 3D too, and with gloves to use instead of the usual controller.

Imagine a show with a lot of CGI effects? Or even a Michael Bay movie on 3D. That would be trippy.
