Yeah - and I think that it is great that he did so.  He only did this because his arm has been twisted behind his back, otherwise he'd still be as dangerous to the American way of life as his history has already shown us.  In fact despite the fact that he seems to be doing the will of the people now, he is still not to be trusted, IMHO.  For now he has gotten what he wanted even though he appears to have done a 180. He gets to look good and be able to place the blame on the lame duckers who appear to be vindictive because they lost their seats.

At least when Dubya said he was doing something, he did it and let the pieces fall where they may.  One always knew where Dubya was coming from. This showed strength and conviction, two words that seem to be missing from the current administration's vocubulary.

The fact that Obama has successfully fooled some of the people again, does in in no way mean that he is a "Closet Republican".  In fact the Republian party would find that statement to be an insult.  I wasn't fooled by him in 2008 and I'm not about to be fooled again.

What have I done to cause to to resort to calling me "you people"?  I find this condescending and insulting to be called "you poeple".  You have no idea who I am or what I am about.  Have I insulted you or made any personal attact upon your character?  Maybe the fact that I spent over 21 years in the military fighting the cold war that made me realize that marxists and progressives are the same animal.  I am not going to allow this to flame to a boil so if you insult me one more time I am going to just ignore you and you can have the last word.  It's just not worth it.

Thanks tv. but I think I'll hold off on commenting on this until "The People" speak in Nov 2012.  A lot can happen between now and then.  It is no longer about liberal VS consertatve.  It is about getting both sides to get off of each others' throats.  This country is not quite done with its house cleaning yet.  One more election cycle should tell the story.  Thanks for weighing in and being civil about your convictions.  I respect your point of view even though I may not agree with it.

You may be getting a bit off topic and I still have research to do on this and the other matter you speak of so I will hold my tongue until I form a logical conviction on these matters.  I can't argue without a firm foundation on these matters.

Well no but yes. The liberal wing of the democratic party is the dominant wing of the party but there is as many moderate dems(38%) as there is liberal dems(39%) according to "Gallup".23% are conservative dems. See the Democrats are a big tent party compared to the leftist talk you see on MSNBC in the nightime. Bill Clinton was a centrist dem or a right of center dem after the Gingrich/Republican Revolution of 1994 so it worked for Clinton to move to the center so maybe it might work for Obama. Obama was just shedding too many indie voters(i.e. swing voters) to win re-election in 2 years.

Closet Republican?  I actually don't mind living around Republicans who take care of their stuff.  I'm more concerned about the next world anyway.

Speaking of GWB, a friend of mine on Facebook was upset that Zuckerberg was named Time's "Man of the Year", she suggested Beck or Bush (or some other guy I can't remember)....I was thinking, WTF did Bush do in 2010 that deserved "MotY" honors???  She's also the one who calls Obama an "elitist" along with just about everything everyone's named on here....excluding a "commie pink...closet republican" (I think I may have heard the word "fascist" used once, though) ;)

Goldwater detractors tried to say Barry Goldwater was not eligible to be president because he was born in Arizona, which was a territory in 1907, not a state.  The argument didn't carry water (gold or otherwise) because the four presidents preceding James Monroe were born before the Revolution.  The point was moot anyway because BG didn't stand a chance against LBJ.

John McCain claimed he was born in the Panama Canal Zone, which would have been fair game as it was U.S. territory, but some sources claim he was born in a civilian hospital in Panama proper.  If the race was as close as Bush versus Gore, or if McCain won (or if was a Democrat) this would have been a hot issue.
