Imagine....
A world without Bert and Ernie, Big Bird, Oscar, Mr. Snuffleupagus, Cookie Monster, or Mr. Hopper's Store.
If Bill O'Reilly, Glenn Beck, Newt Gingrich, Karl Rove and Megyn Kelly, and the other party poopers at Fox News, have their way, it could happen.
After attempting to cut NPR (possibly the firing of their new buddy, Juan Williams, might have something to do with it), they are gunning after PBS, and any other network, station and program that gets public support.
Or as Mr. Grouch, Bill O'Reilly put it best.....
"We're going to get legislation, We're going to freeze it down, so they don't get any more money." and now a word from the other Grouch, Sen. Jim DeMint.
"There's ... no reason to force taxpayers to subsidize liberal programming they disagree with."
But wait it gets better.....
Apparently, according to Fox News, Bert and Ernie, are gasp......

This has been an ongoing, as yet unsuccessful, attempt by the Republicans since Reagan. There have been various objections. The ones I really loved were:
They were teaching Spanish and American kids didn't have any reason to speak Spanish
Maria and Luis played husband and wife on the show, but they weren't really married
Maria and Luis were having a child but they lived in an apartment and it was irresponsible to show people who live in apartments having children.
Gotta love it.

The thing is when people are angry, disenfranchised, upset, and feel that they have been severely marginalized, they go with the "only people who can understand our pain."
Which is what The Tea Party and Fox News, are presenting themselves as.
NPR, and PBS will be the first to go, and possibly and other groups, news programs, or TV programs, with a "liberal, lame stream, non Patriotic, Socialist agenda."
Unfortunately, it could mean the end of The Daily Show, too.
Hopefully, I'm wrong.
