Subject: Deleware Senate candidate thinks opponents are hiding in her bushes

and she opposes masturbation, and she owes tens of thousands in back taxes, and her college degree was awarded recently despite claiming it was awarded back in 1993.

and oh yeah, she won the primary with thanks to the Tea Party.

http://www.newser.com/story/100321/anti-masturbation-candidate-is-truly-strange.html

if the Dems can't win this state now, they shouldn't win any.

and the GOP is none to happy about it either

this week the Republican Party of Delaware filed a complaint with the Federal Election Commission, claiming the O’Donnell campaign and the Tea Party Express are illegally working in concert.

kind of like the situation in South Carolina...

If she's so anti-masturbation, how does she know her opponents are hiding in her...never mind.
:-X

I remember O'Donnell from her days as an abstinence pundit.  I cannot believe she is a nominee for a U.S. Senate seat.  I mean, if you asked me in 1998 which was more likely in 2010, Senator Christine O'Donnell or colonies on Jupiter, I would apply for my interplanetary passport.  Christine O'Donnell?  That's nuts!

She still has to win the general election of course, but if there are enough crazy people in Delaware to nominate her over the nine-term Castle...I dunnooooo...

Hey, is that Delaware, or did Pennsylvania just take a dump!

fark headline: Defeated GOP establishment candidate Mike Castle will not give Tea Party candidate Christine O'Donnell the pleasure of his endorsement. Looks like she'll have to pleasure herself

why were you paying attention to abstinence quacks ten years ago?

I think what killed Castle in the Repub Primary was he voted for Cap & Tax in "The House".

I was surprised Castle lost I mean Delaware is not a conservative state like Alaska. Its a pretty "centrist stare" politically. I mean Castle was the Governor of Dellaware for 2 terms and their lone congressman in the US House for 9 terms as you said so I was shocked he lost  because of the name power he had in Delaware too.

From our home office in Waco, Texas, here's our top 10 stupid **** that Christine O' Donell says....

10.  O'Donnell on AIDS.

In 1997, O'Donnell took to C-SPAN  to complain that the government was spending too much money combating AIDS. She voiced concerns that a drag queen ball "celebrates the type of lifestyle which leads to the disease." She also objected to calling those with AIDS "victims" and said the disease was a consequence of a certain "lifestyle."

  9.  O'Donnell on Britney Spears and Madonna.

"I think people like Britney Spears have been irresponsible," O'Donnell said on Fox News shortly after the pop star and Madonna exchanged a kiss during a performance at the MTV Video Music Awards. "Well, I feel sorry for both of them. Madonna is a middle- aged woman who is trying to hold on to her youth. And Britney is super star who is trying to hold on to her popularity. That's why they're playing games and doing gimmicks," O'Donnell said.

"And you can tell that Britney Spears is struggling with who she is. I think she has a team of agents and managers who are saying, yes, push the envelope, kiss Madonna, take off all your clothes. And she's doing that because she doesn't want to sacrifice this enormous platform that she's built. But at the same time, she is sacrificing herself and you can see that in her eyes when she talks."

Subject: Re: Deleware Senate candidate thinks opponents are hiding in her bushes

Written By: JamieMcBain on 09/16/10 at 9:21 am

8.  O'Donnell on masturbation.

"If he already knows what pleases him and he can please himself, than why am I in the picture?"

7.  O'Donnell on feminism.

Asked if she considered herself a feminist, O'Donnell said: "Absolutely, but let me qualify that -- I consider myself an authentic feminist. Not as defined by the modern movement. And, let me clarify that a little bit more. I was an English major, so break it down: -ist means one who celebrates. As a feminist, I celebrate my femininity."

6. O'Donnell on psychics.

"Psychics exploit the human beings natural desire that longs for something higher," O'Donnell said on Bill Maher's program in October 2001. "The same way a pimp exploits the natural desire to be with the opposite sex...psychics put people in spiritual harm, the same way pimps put people in physical harm."

Subject: Re: Deleware Senate candidate thinks opponents are hiding in her bushes

Written By: JamieMcBain on 09/16/10 at 9:24 am

5. O'Donnell on nude sunbathing.

"I mean, it is very difficult, I'm sure, for a man to sit there and stare at his girlfriend naked and not want to go a little bit further."

4. O'Donnell on freak dancing.

"This is a matter of culpability. What freak dancing is isn't just like the safety of mosh pitting," O'Donnell said. "This is sexually explicit activity for minors. We do limit the expression of minors. There are drinking laws. There are -- you know, you have to be 18 to smoke. You can't go to school in a bikini. On one hand, you have people saying this is squelching their freedom, and then you scratch your head and say look over here, date rape is such an epidemic. There's a connection, and, if people realize that there's a connection, then they'll realize that these limitations and restrictions exist for a very valid reason."

3.  O'Donnell on Obama.

"He's soooo liberal. He's anti-American," said O'Donnell. "He's beating the 'change' drum. But let's look at the change. He did not vote for English as the official language. What does that say?"

Subject: Re: Deleware Senate candidate thinks opponents are hiding in her bushes

Written By: JamieMcBain on 09/16/10 at 9:26 am

2. O'Donnell on the Gay Pride Parade.

"Well, I know that the one here in Los Angeles, there was S&M going on. There was mocking sodomy, mocking, you know, all kinds of crude sexual acts," O'Donnell said. "Because -- because authorities were too afraid to be called, quote, unquote, 'homophobic' because these homosexual special rights groups do get away with ."

1. O'Donnell on Middle Earth.

"You see Tolkien's wisdom applied to just about everything: Tolkien and communism, Tolkien and industrialization," O'Donnell said, speaking of the authors "Lord of the Rings" series in December 2003. "In researching this topic I even found a book on Tolkien and sexual fetishes."

O'Donnell said it was "surprising, then, especially in today's very hyper-sensitive, post-Gloria Steinem world, that there's such a lack of commentary on Tolkien and women. ... Is it that people assume that women don't have an interest in Tolkien?" she asked.

The now-GOP candidate dismissed the request that Tolkien should have written more about the females in the book, saying that the books "were written from a hobbit's perspective" and that if the film changed what was in the books it would "severely take away from the film's legitimacy.

8.  O'Donnell on masturbation.

"If he already knows what pleases him and he can please himself, than why am I in the picture?"

So.. she's against masturbation 'cause it means she's not getting enough?  (can't help but wonder how many "he"s she's referring to, there.. after all, *lots* of guys masturbate, and I don't think she'd be entirely happy with the attention of them all)

I agree with her opinion of psychics :)

Have to say that if those are her ten most "nutty" sayings, she's nothing like as bad as I was expecting.

O'Donnell's no spring chicken herself, for one thing.  For another, anybody that hung up on sex and masturbation must be a superfreak at heart.  I'll bet she slobbers over the cute young guys in her Bible studies class!  "Playing games and doing gimmicks" indeed Ms. O'Donnell, nice girl like you wouldn't do anything of the kind!

WHAT!  You live so close.  The best test is the one where they threw them in the water, if the floated they were witches and were subject to hanging.  If they didn't sink they weren't witches.  Of course if the sank they drowned, but that is another issue.

No, that was probably her sister, who's a lesbian.  There's a Bush joke in there somewhere, I just have to dig deep enough to find it.  There could be something fishy going on, but figuring it out would be a really hairy problem, I tell ya.

And since there's no safe-for-work image for that (I mean, besides Daffy and the Lemur), and since her relatives aren't running for office, let's get back to the important issue of this campaign: does Christine O'Donnell weigh the same as a duck?

Halloween is kinda like a Massachusetts Mardi Gras.  Aside from that, Salem is pretty cool, you shouldn't dismiss it.  They have a tall ship that takes people out, the Peabody Museum, The old burial ground, and they give you a better idea of what went on in all its ugly forms.  Beyond the witch thing it was a major port for the China trade  If I was from away I would plan a trip that included Marblehead up to Gloucester.  People head for Cape Cod, but Cape Ann is the better cape all the way around.

Several years ago, we went to Salem with the college's History Club. Carlos' youngest daughter (who is also a witch) was with us. Some of the places we went to see were planned (and they really sucked-like the Witch Museam  :P ) and some weren't. We did go to see the old burial ground which was kind of cool. Some of the other things that we really wanted to see the kids didn't. We did go into a Wiccan book store which Carlos' daughter & I had a blast. We could have stayed there all day but all the other kids were outside waiting for us. I did manage to buy my Tarot Cards there. (Tarot of the Cat People  ;) :D ;D ;D ) On the way home, one of the kids said that he was a little disappointed because they only encountered one witch (from one of the exhibits we went to). I informed him that there were 2 on the our bus. He didn't say a word. I guess he didn't know how to respond to it. Talk about a missed opportunity on those kids' part. They could have asked us a bunch of questions but never did. The three of us talked about going back-WITHOUT the History Club but never did. Maybe some day.

The witches were hanged -- not burned -- in present-day Danvers, just up the road from present-day Salem.  Hospital Hill, where Danvers State Hospital stood until this decade, is often cited as the hill where the hangings occurred.  However, I can't find remember which nearby hill the article named.  One man was also crushed with stone when he wouldn't confess.

Sorry for that

When I was a wee lad in 1970s, we dressed in costumes and went trick-or-treating.  You could also also host or visit a Halloween party or two.  You might have a sort of Casper pageant at school.  Cider and pumpkin-flavored icing for the kids.  That was it though.  You threw eggs.  You got hit by eggs, that's how it went...

I know the grownups went to costume parties sometimes and some of the moms would dress as hookers and other moms dressed as librarians.  The librarian resented the hooker because the all the men stood around drooling over her..

No, not at all, merely one with whom one works who also happens to be predisposed to orking cows.  :)

Probably the best typo ever, and I take advantage of any chance I get to make it.  Earliest reference I can find right now is April 1996, but I'm sure it's older than that.

In fact - and it took some weird googling to get here, but I have proof that the term "cow orker" does indeed go back to 1989, with Charles A. Anderson as its most likely inventor.  Click that, cut, paste, and save, for Google's USENET archive ain't what it was 10 years ago.

If cattle and swine could mate we would have a name of its offspring.  Like the mule, it would die out in a single generation.  Now, if the CIA has some kind wretched monster Dr. Benway stitched together in the bowels of the pentagon...I'll worry about it when the time comes to worry about it!

:o

On an Internet barstool, typin' like a damn fool, got the 12:00 news blues,
And I've given up hope for the evening soaps and a bottle of cold brew.
Is it any wonder I'm not crazy? Is it any wonder I'm sane at all?
Is it any wonder, I've got

- Styx, Too Much Time On My Hands, 1981

(Attention Parody Authors: A very cursory google search draws a blank for Too Much Hair On My Hands, and it's 20 years overdue.  I can't write it because I didn't have to change any other lines in the song, but you can do better than that!)

No, that's Spinal Tap, not Styx.  You're on your own if you wanna find a good video for Big Bottom in the Hell Hole that is the Internet.  That's require a Heavy Duty kind of Rock and Roll Creation.  But tonight, I'm gonna rock Christine tonight.  On some sort of farm.

But since this is a political thread about the transition of the Palinite movement from mere fundamentalist insanity to outright dementia, all mashed up with 80s cheezrock, we'll play it your way.  What Spinal Tap sang with irony, Levi Johnston would sing with conviction:

I rode a jet stream, I hit the top,
I'm eatin' steak and lobster tails.
The sauna's drafty, the food's too hot,
The kitchen stinks of boilin' snails
The tax man's comin', the butler quit,
This ain't no way to be a man.
I'm goin' back to where I started,
I'm flashin' back into my pan.
(Yeah, that's what I'm doin', and why not?)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rk9aThIovMA

It's better in a hell hole,
Know where you stand in a hell hole,
Folks lend a hand in a hell hole,
Girl, get me back to my hell hole...

  - Spinal Tap, Hell Hole, 1984.  25 years ahead of Levi Johnston's time.
