It's my understanding that his granny was named Shickelgruber(unsure of spelling) and was Jewish.  As for the African Ancestry, it has been shown that the only pure strain of DNA found is that of the Bushmen of the Kalahari.  Everyone everywhere has a marker of the bushmen, but they don't share anyone elses.  So everyone has the one drop, which will have a lot of people able to sing the blues, like it or not.
