The “Ground Zero Mosque” controversy makes me glad I don't watch televised news reports.
Oh, and meanwhile the Republicans shot down medical benefits for the 9/11 First Responders. Way to go guys! Almost ZERO coverage of that however.

No, there was something else in that medical legislation for the 9/11 first responders that made the republicans vote it down. There was coverage of it do you remember New York Reps. Peter King(R) and Anthony Wiener(D) going at it with Wiener's shouting match on the House Floor? I don; know how you missed that because I sure didn't! I remember the issue on that bill because the Dems brought it up to the floor because of the 230 votes needed to pass the legislation!
I agree though there is too much new about this mosque, let them build the mosque!

For chrissakes, you can't even see the joint from Ground Zero. If they ever build a Dubai-style mega-skyscraper there, you'd have to go to the observation deck and find it with a telescope. Now, if some terrorists were to level the two city blocks -- MANHATTAN city blocks -- between Ground Zero and the mosque/community center, yeah, you could see it on a clear day!
Maybe people don't like the idea of a mosque in close proximity. Maybe those same people have a problem with Muslims in close proximity. Maybe some people are bigots-for-life because of what those terrorists did a decade ago.

On the assumption that the fast food isn't halal.. that makes for an interesting (and possibly rather educational) time for all those Muslims coming out of the mosque...

I do remember that footage. odd it has been aired since. yes there was something in that bill that made the Republicans totally insane. an end to a tax loophole for corporations.
