I'm actually with "Don Carlos" and "Maxwellsmart" for one time sort of. Libetarian idea's scare me such as the legalization of all illegal drugs and letting out of jail for using illegal substances. Libertarians are anti-war just like Liberal Democrats are and that scares me too!

Rand shouldn;t have made that comment that he wasn;t for the civil rights act but he did apologize for that comment and said he would have voted for the civil rights act. Still, Rand scares me with his brand of Libertarianism!

Actually, he said he would vote for parts of it, but not the parts that apply to discrimination in private businesses, like Denny's, where people of color still face discrimination.

He's against war in general, the war on drugs, and he supports removing marriage from the government while instituting gay civil unions.  Basically, this last stance would replace all governmental recognition of marriage with secular civil unions, so there is no longer any religious side to the debate.

On most social issues (other than abortion), he supports letting people live their lives without governmental intervention.

Rand Paul is much more socially conservative.

In fact, if you look at all the recent independent polling of this race, it ain't pretty for Conway.  Paul is consistently hovering around 50%.  Statistician Nate Silver of the New York Times currently gives Paul an 89% chance of victory.

And you know why that is?  Because as much as Daily Kos or TalkingPointsMemo wants to harp on decades-old issues that no one is voting on in the year 2010 like the Civil Rights act, the biggest scandal in the race among actual Kentucky voters is Conway's support of Obamacare; which 69% of Kentuckians want repealed.
