Subject: Family Values in Pennsylvania...

Corruption of course is a way of life in my home state.  ;D  That said, things have really been whipping up into a frenzy lately.

Over the past couple of years, about a dozen or so Democratic state elected officials have been prosecuted for using state resources to conduct campaigns, a big no-no here in the Commonwealth.  The former Democratic Whip and his cronies were just convicted a week or so ago.

Now it is the Repubs' turn.

http://www.postgazette.com/pg/10097/1048497-455.stm

Today Republican Whip Jane Orie was indicted for basically the same thing, along with her sister Janine Orie, who is an aide to State Supreme Court Justice Joan Orie Melvin.  Jane and Janine are being represented by attorney Jack Orie.  Got that straight?  ???

The Orie sisters were indicted by a grand jury called by DA Steven Zappala Jr., who is the son of retired State Supreme Court Justice Steven Zappala Sr.  The Ories allege that her prosecution is "getback" because Ms. Orie objected to Zappala Sr and his sister, Michelle Zappala Peck being involved in a casino gambling group.

Meanwhile the DA's brother, Gregory Zappala, is under a bit of a cloud because his partners in a prison-for-hire company were caught paying off PA judges to sentence youth offenders to be incarcerated at his facilities. :o

In Pennsylvania, we are proud of our FAMILY VALUES.  ;D ;D

Perhaps a big wall would keep them out?  I'm sure that has been tried elsewhere with success.... ;)

Sounds like those families in PA need a few more genes.  That starts to happen rapidly in a blood dynasty

Nah.  We have lots of miners on either side of the border, so they'd just dig tunnels under the fence.  ;D

I had a friend who was from Pennsylvania and she married her first cousin. NO JOKE!!! She didn't even have to change her name to have her last name the same as his. She later divorced him but I'm sure it is awkward at family reunions.

If your family tree does not fork, you might be a redneck.

"I'd like to introduce you to my wife and sister" and there is only one woman standing there.

I have an old friend.  Her son and daughter married a brother-sister combo.

Nothing illegal or biologically wrong on this one but it still seems kinda odd.  You DEFINITELY don;t want any of these first cousins getting hitched.  ;D

My step-father was his own 9th cousin because somewhere along the lines two sisters married two brothers. Nope, nothing illegal or biologically wrong. But, I do think that two cousins is biologically wrong.

Here's a pic of her sister Janine Orie, who just got suspended from her Supreme Court Aide's position:

I'd just like to say that, out of respect for the legislative and judicial branches of government in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, that I would NOT party with them...  :P
