6 months ago, this little meme was just satire. Today, someone with the power to write the laws that determine whether people live or die (and how much money we have taken from us in the form of taxes to be spent on his whims and the whims of people like him) basically put his version of it into the Congressional record.

and this... my friends... is part of why I'll eventually be in Canada.
Gohmert's level of looniness is not uniquely American, but it's certainly more common here than in most First World countries....
