Subject: Library of Congress Thinks Twice about Honoring Lynndie England

Written By: LyricBoy on 08/15/09 at 9:04 am

In case anybody wonders what goes on at the Libary of Congress, it appears that some pencil-necked geeks invited Lynndie England to come and talk to them, and expound upon how she was the real victim at Abu Gharaib.

The event was cancelled after what appears to be fairly vociferous opposition.

The organizers of this event are now crying "foul".

The only question I have is why in the accompanying picture, Lynndie does not have a cigarette dangling out of her mouth.

Pvt. Lynndie England? There are a lot of authors and a lot of books out there, it gives me pause as to why the Library of Congress thought once about it.

Perhaps the glamour factor, Max.

But lets face it, if she wasn't scape goated, nobody ever was.  And that holds true of the general (a woman reservist I believe) who was also scape goated.  Now if Rumsfeld were going to speak about it...

Carlos, normally I might agree about the scapegoating, but when you see the images of England at Abu Gharaib, it is very clear that she took glee in her actions. Despite her story that she was "just following orders" or "trying to please her man", the sh*t eating grin that she has in ALL of the pics tells the real story.

Her boyfriend, Mr Graner, was a jail guard here in the Picksburgh area before the war, and faced all sorts of charges then for prisoner abuse. Which makes his story not credible, and it appears that it did not fly at his court martial, as he got 10 years in the brig.

I think you and Carlos are both right, actually.  She was scapegoated AND she had a lot of fun being a little sadist.

Yes.  My point was that the fish stinks from the head down.
