Yeah...  Lou made a lot more sense when Bush was in office.  Now, he seems to have reduced himself down to a male Nancy Grace.

His meltdown is similar to that of Glenn Beck's.  Beck started out as a moderate conservative, but he's since become someone that even Rush Limbaugh looks sane compared to.

Attention Birthers:  You're doing as much damage to the Elephant wing of the Party as the Democrats who fell for Hilaryis44 could have done to the Jackass wing of the Party.  In the end, you're just making both wings of the Party look bad.

I don't think it matters where in the world he was born, as long as he was born a US citizen. You can be born anywhere in the world and as long as one of your parents is a US citizen at the time of your birth, so are you. That is what is meant by natural-born. It does not mean 'born on US soil', but 'born with US nationality'.

For some reason, the Birthers remind me of the dude at the end of this clip.

The "44" refers to the possibility of her being the 44th President. 

In all probability, the site was set up by Republican supporters to split the Democratic vote by dividing the "feminist" from the "guilty white male" demographics. 

Once upon a time, Hillary was expected to beat Obama in the primaries, and she was probably the more beatable of the potential candidates.  By making Hillary's supporters look like (optional: subtly-racist) feminuts, the 'pubs could have helped solidify votes around their (male) candidate.  More importantly, if Hillary had gotten the nomination, a lot of disenchanted Obama supporters (blacks, but also thousands of young folks not interested in supporting the continuation of the Bush/Clinton dynasties) might have stayed home on election night.

You can't run a campaign based on black-vs-white (mercifully, not enough people care about a candidate's race to alter the outcome of a political race), but you probably could have fought it as a Political Battle of the Sexes.  Much like Bush-v-Kerry was Boomerfest about the 1960s and the Vietnam War, McCain-v-Hillary would have been a Boomerfest about the 1970s and Women's Liberation.  A campaign based on "Hillary vs. Anybody" might have been a close race, as Boomers once again rehashed the arguments of 40 years ago while Xers (and Generation Jones) stayed home in nauseated boredom.

But it didn't work out that way.  Obama got the nomination, and we got "Boomer for Bush vs. Xer for Not-Bush", which was a proposition that was absolutely unwinnable for the Republicans, even without the economic disaster of late 2008.

The punchline of Hillaryis44 is that there probably were some Dworkinite types who fell for it hook, line, and sinker, and who would have proved embarassing during the campaign.  Sorta like how McCain had to spend half his campaign distancing himself from his followers ("No, Ma'am, he's not a Muslim" *and why did my handlers let you into the building let alone give you the microphone*) , and how the remnants of the Republican party are now spending just about all their time distancing themselves from their followers.
