Subject: Senate Refuses Obama Request for Gitmo Closure Funds
Written By: LyricBoy on 05/20/09 at 6:31 pm
Newspapers are describing this as a "rebuke" but I do not see it that way.
Seems that the Congress is turning down the request because there is no plan.
I imagine that once a viable plan is produced, the Congress will cough up the dough.
Thoughts anybody? ???

It seems there ain't a congressman in the country who wants the detainees in his district...not even incarcerated. So, I'd say liquidate them.

Well, yeah... No Congress member who intends on running for re-election would want this in his/her backyard.
NIMBY is kind of an inevitable aspect of democracy.

There's some sh*thole town near Billings, MT, with an extra Supermax. They said they'd be happy to take 100 detainees!

As a buddy of mine recommended.
Put them all on a plane at Gitmo and fly them back to Afghanistan and drop them off there.
Then land the plane.

Maybe to fans of Paris Hilton's music.
No, wait a minute... that's too cruel.

This is how the Argentine dictators got rid of suspected radicals during their "dirty little war" back in the '70s

it's also an inevitable aspect of the kind of government we have in THIS country.

it was also good sport to toss villagers out of helicopters in vietnam. if they hit the ground and died, it proved they were VC.
i wonder if lyricboy would like to include the Gitmo detainees who have been cleared of wrongdoing but cant be repatriated. they haven't actually done anything wrong, but as history indicates, tossing people out of planes and helicopters to their certain death is... well, it's just enjoyable, i think, to a lot of people. to a certain kind of temperament, it's gratifying on an almost sexual, libidinous level to commit murder.
he did say "all" gitmo detainees, so i can only surmise this includes the taxi drivers turned in for the reward money, the guys turned in by local rivals, the guys turned in to settle scores, etc. fudge it, kill em all. cuz they're arabs and it feels good to kill arabs.

There are 240 guys in Gitmo and it's starting to seem like we're more afraid of them then they are of us. Now Obama just wants to leave 'em there to rot. Look, we took them prisoner, now let's deal with them. It's frikkin' medieval to wall people up like that. They're too dangerous to set free? All 240? Who are all those guys? What's their story? Do we want to pay for those detainees to sit their in a prison camp for the next forty years?
