They just forgot to mention that the conservatives would be the ones committing the crimes

The irony of it.
I guess the conservatives needed to make sure that it be a true statement, so they went and did it themselves.

To be fair, quite a bit of the stuff reported in that story isn't really "crime," in that it's not illegal. Things like betting on when Obama will be killed, singing songs saying he should be killed, and hanging fake nooses on trees might be extremely mean-spirited gestures, bu they aren't really crime.
Anyway, the site that story is posted on seems to be just some looney blog, so I'd have reason to doubt the reliability of just about all of that information.

er... all of those things are crimes, the Secret Service has to investigate every threat on the president's life. The Secret Service has been super busy for months, that's been pretty widely reported. Newsweek pointed out that once Sarah Palin began her little "rallies" that the number dramatically rose.
looney blog? yeah... but I've seen plenty of mainstream press accounts of this stuff... all they did was round it up.

Now, bigots and a-holes tend to self-identify as conservatives thanks to their gurus Limbaugh and Hannity, but the problem here is not conservatism, it's crime. I can't quite picture George Will spraypainting "Go Back to Africa" on somebody's house!

still not much of a surprise. The "Southern Strategy" basically ensures that the modern Republican party is going to have a large percentage of these folks in it, whether they believe in conservative principals or not.

I love how so often the people that do this to "Liberal" figures are seen to be "Normal Conservatives".
Yet when somebody does this to a "Conservative", they are seen as "extreme fanatics".
I see things like this and see inexcuseable behavior, no matter who it is aimed at.
Oh, and I did not vote for Obama either. Does that make me a racist?
Of course, having voted in Presidential elections since 1984 I have voted for the Democrat for president exactly.... 0 times.

In fact, if this ellection was Condi Rice Vs. John Kerry, guess who I would have voted for. And it sure as hell would not have been Sen. Kerry.

Dr. King was a Republican when Strom Thurmond was a Democrat. The major political parties had very different ideologies fifty years ago especially in the South and any comparison between then and now has to be taken with a mound of salt.

Obama has never said he was a Progressive, which to someone of your mentality is damn close to being a Socialist.
I will agree not all Republicans are racist. If you look at social conservatism a majority of African Americans are conservative. After Obama, it's predicted some may change party registration.
Don't think I could take Kerry over Condi either. Condi is a deep thinker.

Republican's back then were the socially liberal party back then. Especially in the south. Does the term "Dixiecrat" still apply today? No, however it was back then. Which party brought about abolishion and was for sufferage? Republicans. Lincoln was a Republican, so was Congressman Thaddeus Stevens who was a abolitionist.

But you are right (well, left...well you know what I mean :D ;D ;D ) Obama is more to the center than people on the right realizes. I guess this country has been far to the right for so long that anything even close to the center looks far left.
