well, everybody has to make sacrifices.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President George W. Bush said on Tuesday he quit playing golf in 2003 out of respect for the families of Americans killed in the war in Iraq.

"I don't want some mom whose son may have recently died to see the Commander-in-Chief playing golf," Bush said in an interview with Yahoo and Politico.com.
"I feel I owe it to the families to be as -- to be in solidarity as best as I can with them. And I think playing golf during a war just sends the wrong signal," he said.

I read that in this morning's paper. He probably gave it up because he is bad at it so it makes it look like he is make a sacrifice for our troops. ::)

And King George's sacrifice is supposed to help the troops....how? Kind of a nonsequitur here. It doesn't even work symbolically! I'd rather he bring some of the troops home and then hit the links.

Keith Olbermann had a good report on this the other day, where he pointed out that Bush didn't even give up the game until several months after he said he had. He can't even feign fake sympathy correctly. He should have Hillary show him how it's done.
