Subject: Politicians and Sex
Written By: danootaandme on 04/28/07 at 6:31 am
We have yet another "sex scandal". Randall Tobias , head of the Bush administration's foreign aid programs resigned after it was reported that his name was on the rolodex of a woman who reputedly ran an upscale call girl service. I would like to know, in 2007, who really cares so much about this that it should even be an issue. What is it with this culture that we cannot look the sex trade for what it is and legalize it. That peoples lives and careers should be destroyed for consensual sex, paid or not, is, to me, archaic as well as hypocritical.

It is ok for politicians to be corrupt. They can make millions while others suffer, do stuff illegal and unethical but heaven forbid them to have consensual sex. We all know that paying for sex is the worst crime a person can do. ::)
*End of sarcasm

All men pay for sex one way or another.
::)
The only time it bothers me when politicians get into sex scandals is when the same politicians preach to the rest of us about family values, the sanctity of marriage, and moral rectitude. Bill Clinton was a bigtime fornicator, but he wasn't telling me to keep my drawers on at the same time.

Partisan, partisan, partisan. That's all "morality" is to pundits.
Republican official, Republican administration.
Last night: Sean Hannity/Hugh Hewitt--Defend, defend, defend.
IF
Democratic official, Democratic administration.
THEN it would be
Last night: Sean Hannity/Hugh Hewitt--attack, attack, attack.
You should have heard Hannity last night. He said, "There are lonely people out there in the world...some men really do call escort services just for the companionship." He was flushed (and he should be) because he knows darn well what an escort service is and why men call them. Massage? Massage my....well, that wouldn't be the right choice of words? Or would it?
Companionship = money for sex.
Massage = money for sex.
What do these guys think, we all just stepped out of a Normal Rockwell painting? I've been around. I know a thing or to about a thing or to, and I bet Mr. Hannity knows a thing or two more!
I think some peoople around DC are scared as heckfire about the madames phone roster.
They will levy the charge, "Thought you liberals were open-minded about sex!"
Open-minded is one thing. Open-walleted is quite another--especiall when you're Randall Tobias promoting a moralist national policy against the sex industry that puts people at greater risk of STDs while you indulge yourself in "high-end adult fantasy" dalliances with call girls. I would not agree with Mr. Tobias even if he had kept it in his pants, but this is outright obnoxious.
And there's more to come.
This is no secret. Top-flight prostitution services swamp political conventions. The risk is should one of these madames get pinched, she might start to squeal.
This wouldn't be a problem if prostitution was legal....but you know we can't have that!
