I was just coming in here to say that.  buh-bye to another incompetent member of the Republican party.  He won't be missed. I'm surprised Bush finally woke up and smelt the change in the air.  Had he done it sooner, he might not be quacking for the next two years.

I hope the Dems won't accept this resignation in lieu of investigation.  They must get to the bottom of the lying and the war profiteering.  No "payback," just set a precedent that says we will not tolerate such corruption from anybody in the future.  I would like to see a proposed Constitutional amendment against war profiteering. No making big bucks off the deaths of American soldiers!

Yeah, but on the other hand (no pun intended) Dubya is giving us all the finger again.  He appointed former CIA/NSA operative and lying Iran-Contra thug Bob Gates as the new defsec.  Gates ought to be rotting away in federal prison, just like Rumsfeld!

Good riddance to Donald Rumsfeld.  The little wanker has always been playing GI Joe with out troops.  I do wish we could have canned Donnie though, before he up and quit.  Investigations should definately continue.

Anyone see or hear the press conference?  The little twerp will be on prozac for the next two years.  Probably believed rove when he told him not to worry, the repugs would hold onto it all, he actually said that he was surprised.  Now he is going to have to deal with the people he wouldn't even talk to.  To listen to him talking about working together, like it is his idea and what he has been trying to do all along.  Who does he think he's fooling?

The funny part is, if Bush had fired Rummy just two weeks ago, rather than issuing a press release to the effect that Rummy would remain as SECDEF for the rest of his term in office, he might have convinced a few thousand (out of a million or so) voters in Virginia and Montana that a change in policy was in effect, and might have preserved his Party's hold on the Senate.

One week ago, John Kerry was campaigning for the Republicans.
Two weeks ago, George W. Bush campaigned for the Democrats.
