Al Gore YouTube Spoof Not So Amateurish

By JAKE TAPPER AND MAX CULHANE, ABCNews.com
(Aug. 5) -- A tiny little movie making fun of Al Gore, supposedly made by an amateur filmmaker, recently appeared on the popular Web site YouTube.com. A video spoof making fun of Al Gore and global warming recently ran on the popular Web site YouTube.com.
YouTube.com A video spoof making fun of Al Gore and global warming recently ran on the popular Web site YouTube.com. One newspaper suspects a Republican PR firm produced the video.
At first blush, "An Inconvenient Spoof" seemed like a scrappy little homemade film poking fun at Gore and his anti-global warming crusade. In the movie, Gore is seen boring an army of penguins with his lecture and blaming global warming for everything, including Lindsay Lohan's thinness. But when the Wall Street Journal tried to find the guy who posted this film

No surprise. You real of course there are zillions of dollars at stake. The money addicts are scared sh*tless they will lose some short term profits because some liberal killjoys want to leave our children a habitable planet!
One of the Right's greatest successes is the illusion of popular resistance. Before we invest millions in a major motion picture, "A Convenient Lie," let's first give the impression Joe Shmo from Normal, Illinois, is in his basement making fun of Al Gore!
The fascists of your grandfather's generation were such party-poopers. The Right understands you catch more flies with honey. You don't have to suppress the opposing point of view so much as make fascism appear folksy and fun!
For instance this week Don Rumsfeld replied to Senator Clinton:
"“you would have a dickens of a time trying to find instances where I have been overly optimistic.”
A lot of irritable boys and girls on the Left got all mad about Rumsfeld acting insipid and senile. They could not be more wrong. Rumsfeld is playing a card from the Reagan deck, "dickens of a time," aw shucks! Think of how disarming that phraseology is. Doesn't it make Rummy sound like "the chipper grandfather we all wish we had," (as Jello Biafra said of Reagan). Can you picture Andy Griffith ordering Barney Fife to torture a fellow in the Mayberry jail? That's the image control Rumsfeld is driving at.
*Clinton and Rumsfeld are on the same side, they're just hashing out the details.

Of course they have to discredit Gore. After all he MAY (or may not) run in 2008. Let's jump on the bandwagon NOW even though he said that he will not run-but he could change his mind.
And as for global warming-we all know how much of a big lie that is. ::)
