Subject: Did the Iraqis Actually Need a Sadaam ?
Written By: LyricBoy on 02/23/06 at 7:15 am
After seeing the festivities of the past couple of days, it's a valid question.
"So long as the Arabs fight tribe against tribe, so long will they be a little people; a silly people; greedy, barbarous, and cruel"
It appears that either their culture, or religion, or the combination destines them to a future of tyranny and subjugation. ???

They didn't *before* the West installed him as leader there...
His behaviour while in power has been based around the subjugation of Shi'a and Kurd, and is more directly responsible for the sort of thing we're seeing there today; however, the pseudo-democracy that we've insisted on this time around is barely any better: if all people do is vote for their own religion, it ain't democracy at all, merely a way of the largest group forcing its will on the others. So the belligerant and bellicose Sunni minority is fighting back. No surprise there.
