Subject: Most Exciting Summer of the 2000s?

I’d say it would be the summer of ‘03.

Probably for me, too. We were planning our wedding.

This is obviously very subjective.
For me, it's between Summer 2003 and Summer 2005.
Summer 2003:
- Senior activities in high school (prom, class trips, etc.)
- Graduated from high school and prepared for junior college, which I started in late August
- My hometown Marlins began an unprecedented turnaround that would see them win it all
Summer 2005:
- Hooked up with my now-wife in the spring and went to a lot of places with her that summer, especially the movies
- Won an Honors Award for my campus
- Earned my Associate's degree and transferred to a 4-year university
- Studied for and passed an entrance exam to be admitted into the university's accounting program (which I eventually bolted from anyway)
- Started my first paid job
Both summer periods featured good movies and songs.

As for more exciting summer that would be 2005. There was always something to look forward to, whether it was a movie that was coming out, premiers of TV series, or travels and weekend plans. Not just the summer but the other parts of that year had exciting moments as well.
