Remember when corporate design used to be all about sunny days, intense green grass, bubbles and overall people performing “human activities”? That’s Frutiger Aero. A design that surged in the early 2000’s, right after the Y2K wave and it was mostly used in UI and industrial design, with a huge focus on skeumorphism and humanism.
This style helped users without previous digital experience to integrate into computers and cellphones, before everything went completely minimalistic and flat around the mid 2010’s, which is the norm of the present day.
Around the web, you can find many nostalgic communities about this trend, but there’s a subreddit (r/FrutigerAero), which is very helpful if you want to be part of it.
