Subject: Videos from the 2000s that look brand new
Written By: Slim95 on 04/20/21 at 3:13 pm
The 2000s were strange because you had some videos that looked like they were taken in the '90s, and others that look like they were taken last week. Here is an example of a sharp, clear, and HD video from 2006 that looks like it was filmed today

This is why I say some things from the 2000s don't feel as long ago as the same amount of years in the 20th century.

It is rare to find these high quality videos from 2006 but if anyone has any others please post! I think it's because HD started getting popular at the time so sometimes they used high quality cameras but for the most part to save money people usually stuck to SD in 2006. It is still kind of eerie to see as this was 15 years ago but looks like it was filmed yesterday. That's what I mean when I say some things from the '00s don't feel as old as say '06 vs '91 for example.

This one from a year earlier (2005) looks way older, that's why I say '06 was such a changeful year:

That doesn't prove anything. One is in HD and the other is in grainy camera quality, hence why they feel like videos taken in completely different decades.

Yeah but before 2006 HD was a lot more rare which is my point, that's why certain things from the '00s look quite modern like that Obama video.

HD was rare until the early 10s in YT videos. Even for pop music videos with high budgets, every one of them had that cloudy 00s camera quality besides about a handful or maybe a dozen at best until 2010.
The obama video is an outlier.

And his hairstyle hasn't changed.

That's why on here people were always saying that 2005 was the 90's while 2006 was the same as the 2020's, since 2006 was when the future began, lol.

2005 was not the '90s that's the most ridiculous thing ever.

There are posters on here who have literally said that, or at least the early 2000's. I actually think it's more connected to the late 2000's, at least the later part of the year anyways.

It has absolutely nothing to do with the '90s. Even the year 2000 isn't connected to the '90s. The '90s ended in 1998 in my opinion.
It's weird how people think just because something is old it means it's from the '90s. Ridiculous. The early 2000s are very old school, but NOT '90s in any way, shape, or form.
